However, this version tastes excellent! I don't taste that strange aftertaste many Slim Jim based products have and it's not overly salty. Highly suggest packing these on a hiking trip or bringing them along for an emergency snack.

They were made from real ingredients and grass fed beef. However, I thought the taste and texture was so similar to a slim Jim, which I am not a huge fan of. They aren't hard and dry like jerky, much more oily and soft. They do have smoky and light spice. But I thought they were just ok and I wouldn't purchase them again.

My husband and teenager normally only eat the most popular brand and always dismiss any attempt to eat a better for them version. This time around they actually liked more than I expected.
