I'm absolutely satisfied with this microwave! It has a light that goes on when opening the door. Also the clock feature works well. Runs smoothly and heats things just right. Very happy with all of the features!

Great price! 1100 watt counter top , surprisingly Room on the inside, smooth operation, easy use, quick start buttons, defrost. Very happy wirh my choice.

Cooks great but the inside is black and there is no light inside the machine when you open the door. It shines a dim light while cooking. If I had known this I would have bought something else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were replacing a similar microwave that died and thought we were ordering the same thing. Noticed immediately that the light does not come on except when it's in use. How are you supposed to see where the spaghetti sauce splashed on a black interior with no light?? Also, the gray on black selection buttons are hard to see. I ended up putting star stickers on Quick 30, Start and Open because they are the most frequently used by me. White lettering on black would be much easier to read.

The placement requirements on p. 5 of the manual require a minimum of 3" from walls is fine, but I can't provide a minimum of 12" above the oven as my cabinet bottoms are only 4" away, and have no place that keeps the right side open. On its right side would be the refrigerator. My old microwave worked fine in this location. What are the reasons for these really difficult placement requirements?

It is a good unit. Rather beefy. I have to keep the instructions on top of the unit for whenever I try something different. The operation is not similar to any unit I have had in the past. But the features are nice once learned. The light is adequate.

The size is comparable to the sharp i replaced. I have to get use to it not having as many bells and whistles, i miss my breakfast bar button. It is a bit loud. It has comparable wattage to the former microwave. However, it is barely 30 days old and it started scraping and making a weird noise from the microwave tray. I had an old tray and ring from my other microwave and switched it out and it was no longer making the noises. I am reaching out to Panasonic about it now. It said it had a child lock but i have yet to find out where it is. It sounds clunky when opening but it's working….i have the extra warranty on it just in case my last microwave lasted FOREVER…but it has also been repaired a time or two as it was purchased when circuit city was around. I am not sure If the time stays on the microwave as i just noticed i had to put it back on.

This microwave works great except for the below. REALLY wish it had vents for steam to escape. Have to wipe steam off the inside of door, inside sides and inside top. Terrible for heating frozen pastry. Pastry comes out soggy. Also wish it had on the front of microwave what amount of time to thaw and auto cook different foods. I had a Panasonic Genius for 38 years with no problems. What made it stop working was the door latch quit working which made the microwave not work. It had vents on the top so no steam to wipe off inside. Also had on the front telling you how much time for "auto cook", or "thaw and auto cook" different foods. I put 2 regular size frozen lamb chops in a sauce in on 5 sensor cook. Had to run them one more time on 5 sensor cook for them to come out just right. This one heats and cooks really well, it is just a guess what amount of time and what temp to put it on. Guess you have to try things and figure it out. The size is good.

My 96 year old aunt wanted a new microwave that "didn't look like the dashboard of a rocket ship". This microwave is just what she needed. Easy to use, fits on her countertop, and it's white....all her requirements are met. She is definirely satisfied.
