The lettuce in the above pic is great. It lasts very long and tastes good. The new stuff they have with the purple bag is horrid. Does not taste as good and after a few days it went bad. It was very hard to find good-looking heads. I am so mad I spent so much and have to throw it away. Will never buy again.

The stock count on this product is always wrong. It almost always says it is low on stock and when I go there, there are at least 20 cases. Right now it says it is out of stock and I just came from the store and there were 16 cases of romaine hearts. I rely on this stock count to determine if I should go to the store or not. Why is this so difficult?

Used a couple of these the first night I brought them home from the store. As I was pulling apart the leaves, I noticed a few little black specs. Stupidly, I thought this was normal (perhaps some dirt or something), washed it off and proceeded to use the lettuce without inspecting any further. A few days later, I discovered my kitchen had become absolutely overrun with fruit flies to an extent I'd never previously experienced. (I've killed hundreds with traps & there are still dozens living in my kitchen). After spending days turning my kitchen upside down for the possible source, tonight I remembered those little black specks. I pulled out the package tonight and started peeling back the leaves -- sure enough, the little black specks were dead fruit flies (yuck). I am now firmly convinced that there was fruit fly larvae in the hearts of romaine when I brought them home and that was the genesis of the problem. Needless to say, I will not be buying these again.

I always received fresh crisp lettuce, however, the last pack was nothing but a bunch of overgrown leaves. There was no similarity to Romain hearts it looked like the shoved the whole head of lettuce in the bag and called it a day. Very disappointed. If this is you saving Money Sams Club you will be saving a lot more, because I will pay more and go to the organic store in town and spend my money.

I'm a single parent and you would think that I wouldn't be able to go thru 6 without them spoiling...well because they stay fresh soo much longer than regular head lettuce, we have no trouble with that!!! I Just keep them on the dry side. I just tear off the bottom, wash the leaves, spin and slice thinly for just about every meal. I recently started using the spicy Tyson chicken patties chopped with lettuce, almonds, mandarins, broccoli slaw for a yummy Asian type salad ;-) Lynn

Less expensive than buying individually

Sub par lettuce. Could be a whole lot better. Short frig life

Yellow romaine. Few green leaves

Nothing worse than brown romaine. I would not buy again.
