[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought one after my wedding. It worked fine but after my 6th or 7th use it started Leaking from where the cleaning solution tank sits. Not sure how or why. I bought a new tank thinking that was the problem, but it continued to leak. Now the hose attachments won't connect together right. Plastic junk. No worth the money you'll spend on it

I had my old Bissell for what seems lile forever when the motor finally gave out. Probably 8-10 years or so. Anyway, bought this new one, the first use was fantastic. I was so happy with the results on my couch and carpet. We only have one room with carpet and that's where the kids prefer to play. Basically I only use it for spot cleaning. Well, we have had it 4 months or so and the large brush belt has snapped! Why did that happen? I can tell you why... there isn't a "sealed" wall between the belts and the area that picks up water/debris so... you open up the (nearly impossible to open( belt "access" door and out comes caked on dirt, fur, a broken belt (probably from the debris being packed in there), and the metal part for the belt to go on is already corroded! I'm so upset with this purchase! No where in the cleaning instructions does it say anything about checking the belt compartment for debris. Debris should NOT She able to get into the inner workings or mechanics of the machine what so ever!

1. Hoover's high end steam cleaning machine versus the Bissell Revolution - I cleaned a rug with the Hoover, and the dirty water tank had dirty water. Then, I cleaned the same rug with the Bissell; this made the dirty water tank's water even dirtier. I am impressed, and I thought I would be sending the Bissell back because it didn't look as heavy duty as the Hoover heavy duty machine. Which proves that a machine doesn't have to look better to be better. Indeed, I am really pleased. Therefore, I will be purchasing more of your excellent products. 2. Bissell OXY Stain Destroyer does exactly what the name says. The stains that I've been trying to remove for years are gone. I waited until the rug was dry; then, examined the rug. Yes! Those stains are gone. Thank you very much.

I'm very happy with my new ProHeat 2X. While it is a little smaller than ones that I have rented, it does a great job. I've used it on carpet and furniture and found it very easy to use and because it is smaller it's very easy for me to handle the machine. The results are great on both carpet and couches. Also, since I own it instead of renting it I can do use it at my leisure, I don't have to worry about returning it before a certain time. I'm very happy with my purchase and wish I would have done it sooner. If you don't mind having to fill the tank and empty the dirty tank more often (which I don't) I strongly recommend this product.

If you have any doubts dismiss them. I love this machine. I had a 10 year old steam cleaner that was a different brand. I was never really satisfied with it but kept it anyway. It even came with a special mattress attachment that was uppose to clean your mattress. It spit rust all over ours. I contacted the company and got no results. My husband has oily skin and it turned yellow where he sleeps. I used the small clothes steamer attachment that came with this machine. Our mattress is probably 15 years old, if not older. My mattress is white! Just think of the dander and dirt it got rid of. It cleans my tile and laminate floors very clean. I am so happy with this machine.

This is replacement for a very old cleaner and it is much improved in terms of the water tanks' ease-of-use, and cleaning it when you're done. (Especially the little tool to clean out the intake.) The older one was awkward, and never really clean. I like how it has settings for more or less water spray, using less on things like thin area rugs. The old one was only used once in a while 'cause it was a hassle. I can see using this as part of more regular cleaning. Very pleased with my purchase and initial performance.

1. the hose attachment will not squirt the cleaning fluid unless the hose has been primed. They note this on page 18 of the manual, but I assumed the hose would squirt cleaning fluid when I squeezed the trigger (the fix is to hold the hand held cleaning attachment and hose below the level of the solution container on the upright to prime the attachment. I would have noted that requirment on page 1. 2. The unit will not remove enough solution and water from the carpet by just making 2 "DRY" passes with the unit. You need to go over the wet area 3 or 4 times, otherwise the carpet will stay wet for 2 days. 3. The hose attachment is a little too short for more than 6 steps. You have to pull the upright very close to the bottom or top of the steps to clean them. 4. The cleaning brushes to not stop rotating when you move the cleaning arm to an upright position. In my case, while cleaning my stairs, I had to pull on the hose to get to the top step. In doing that I pulled the upright over the power cord and the rotating brushes cut into the power cord, exposing the power wires. I didnt notice the now bare wires until I was done cleaning the stairs. Fortunately, they were not cut through and I could cover them with electrical tape. Please make sure you check the power cord postion before using the hose attachment or pulling on the upright. NOTE: my prior carpet cleaner brushes stopped when the carpet cleaner arm was in the upright postion. I wrongly assumed this unit's brushes would also stop in the upright position. Dont make my mistake. In spite of the above issues, the unit does clean my carpet much better than any other product I have used, including professional unit.

I currently have four dogs, and this machine has been a godsend for my carpets. I have cleaned the worst messes with no problem so far. It works great on whole rooms and spots. I have only had it about three weeks and it's helped tremendously. The only thing I haven't loved is the anti bacterial cleaning formula. I think the smell is awful, but the professional formula is much better with little smell. I used the trapper tool for the first time this morning and was very impressed. I would recommend this product.

We recently had construction in our home. The builders put a plastic cover over our carpet to protect it during the construction. The cover was held in place by a sticky substance. When the cover was removed, a residue remained. Over a period of about three weeks, this part of the carpeting became discolored and displayed an obvious path showing where the cover had been. One application with the Bissell ProHeat 2X carpet cleaner removed all traces of the discoloration. Of course, we were very happy with these results and have since purchased another ProHeat 2X for our daughter. There are a lot of people in and out of our house every day, and the Bissell products are ideal for maintaining our carpets.

This lightweight cleaner is wonderful if I didn't clean my carpets myself I would never have believed the carpet was that dirty. The carpets came out beautiful and I accomplished this all by myself at age 70 years young. My grandsons normal does the carpets and I pay them. Had other steam cleaners but none like this one. Just love it!!!
