About this item

Product details

Member's Mark™ Thai Jasmine Rice 50 lb. is a restaurant-sized bag of high-quality jasmine rice. Thai Jasmine rice is one of the primary ingredients in a vast array of dishes. A constant of Thai food, the kitchen staple has worked its way into recipes from Japan, China, India, Korea and beyond. If you like the taste, it can also be substituted into other dishes for other types of rice. It’s named after the jasmine flower, which has a sweet floral scent.

Jasmine Rice is Good for You

From a health standpoint, there's a lot to love about jasmine rice. This naturally fragrant long grain rice is completely cholesterol-free. It's also a great choice for those with gluten sensitivity because it's gluten-free. And jasmine rice contains no trans fats.

Aromatic and Fragrant

Jasmine rice, unlike many other rices, has its own subtly sweet taste. While some rice is more of a blank canvas on which flavors can be layered, jasmine rice actually imparts flavor to the dishes it’s used in. This makes it an exceptionally popular choice for chefs and home cooks alike.

Cooking Jasmine Rice

When cooking jasmine rice, there are a variety of methods. The first is by using the stove top. Combine 1 cup of jasmine rice with 1.5 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Once you have a rolling boil simply reduce to a simmer and cook roughly 15 minutes. If the stovetop isn't an, you can always use the microwave. In this instance, combine 1 cup of jasmine rice with 1.75 cups of water and microwave on high for 15-20 minutes, depending on the strength of your microwave at home. You can also cook it in a rice cooker or an Instant Pot. You can enjoy it simply with garlic, ginger and cilantro or as a base for an Asian dish.

Asian go-to rice

The cooked rice smells good floral type (pandan). The texture is tender and not mushy like the other rice variants like the basmati rice. It is soft, plump and will be mildly sticky compared to sticky rice.

Totally different quality as before... !

Not same quality as before, put half less water, but still look shiny wet after cooking, missing the good smell. Need to contact and complaint with vendor in order to keep the business...

This is great Jasmine Rice. I've tried many different brands from Thailand and this rice is good. I bought the 50 pound bag as the price was extremely reasonable.

    Great quality

I have used 10 brands of rice at my restaurant this one cooks the best. Its quality rice, cooks quick, taste and smells great. It's a little pricier than the others but worth it. Hope they have 100lb. Soon

High quality Hom Mail rice at 1/2 the pricce

My family eat steam rice every day. Unless we are making Japanese or India dishes, Member's Mark Thai Jasmine Rice is one of the best Hom Mali rice that I can find. Not only for Thai dish, Hom Mali is a lot fluffier and softer while retain the shape well after cook. Another highlight is it has a smooth surface and that is especially good for Cantonese fire rice. However, for the same reason I will avoid using Hom Mali in Risotto or stickier rice dishes. My favour is steam fish with steam white rice and enjoy the aroma of the rice itself, or any mild dish will be perfect.
