Product details

These pearls are gathered from freshwater lake and river mollusks. Most Freshwater pearls come from China and they can be mostly round to off-round, or rice-shaped to baroque. They look similar to Akoya pearls, but are the perfect gift when on a budget. They might be slightly less symmetrical, smaller, or not as easily matched, but these minor differences provide a major value for the price. The appealing, deep shine of a pearl is often what defines its beauty. This shine is produced by multiple layers of semi-opaque calcium carbonate crystals, called nacre. The nacre reflects light on the surface of the pearl, producing brilliance and sheen.

Lovely Pearls!

I purchased the pearls as a gift after doing a great deal of research and couldn't be happier with my purchase. They have a 14k gold clasp and each pearl is individually tied. They were very even in size and shape. I was pleased that I had a choice of sizes to choose from. The price was right and the recipient was thrilled. My only complaint is the box that they were delivered in for gift giving. If I had paid $10 for the pearls that would be the box I would expect to receive but not for a $100 gift. They are lovely pearls and made for a wonderful gift.

Good value for great product!

I’ve shopped around for a few months to find a good value for a great product. I believe I have found it! Pearls are knotted between each other and have a high luster with a nice size of pearls. This strand is a special gift and I’m looking forward to the recipient’s reaction. The pearls arrived in a cloth bag instead of a box as described. I remembered a reply to a review with the same issue. So I called the number, left a message, and Sam called back. He was very apologetic and sent a very nice gift box for giving and storing the strand of pearls.

Very pleased with the pearls.

These pearls are gorgeous. They have a nice weight/drape to them, having them hand tied just adds to the quality. I purchased 2 strands, our nieces and nephew (triplets) Graduated from High School and we wanted to give them a keepsake, rather then cash. We got out nieces each the 18" strand of pearls and we got our nephew an engraved pocket watch. They all loved their respective gifts. I am considering purchasing a strand for my daughters for Christmas and myself.
