With its rectangular shape design, it can fit almost any area such as an office, living room, in the laundry room, the bedroom, dorm room or any open space. This sleek oval fingerprint-resistant designdurable trashcan uses the most advance sensor technology can be found in all Nine Stars trashcans.
Automatic Open and Close
As your hand or debris within ten Inch and 130-degree angle from the infrared sensor, the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand remains within the range of the infrared sensor. Three seconds after your hand moves away from the lid, it closes automatically. Power lasts up to 6 months in normal daily usage. Required two AA-size batteries (not included). Includes a garbage bag ring to keeps the bag hidden from public view for a neat and clean appearance.

This is my second trashcan I've bought. I bought this trashcan for my bathroom. I wanted the automatic lid to open the can without me having to touch the trashcan. I have had one for several years and everything works well and the battery held up for a very very long time. I bought another one for my other bathroom. The cans do help a little with keeping the smell contained. I recommend these trashcans.
