Disappointed - Hoping for Swift Replacement

I purchased this as a satisfied Galaxy S7 phone user, but in the less than 3 weeks that I wore it, not all features seemed to work then it completely failed. The always on feature has never worked and it doesn't track stairs. The screen and I assume everything else just went blank and will not turn on. I initially thought the battery had run down, but after charging all night it is still unable to turn on. I will update this after I attempt to get support.

Real smart watch

This is what smart watch should look like. I recently purchased this watch after 1 year of its launch and still this is best smart watch in market. Initially I had battery issues on both watch and phone (Note 8) but after uninstalling the gear manager - restart and re-install of gear manager app - both watch and phone is giving outstanding battery performance. I only wish if the watch was bit cheaper than its current price.

Great watch

I have had this watch for a good while now and it still works great . I love how I can customize my faceplate image and how everything works basically by turning the dial. Ot is durable and great quality. It's a little heavy of your not use to a smart watch but you do get use to it easy. It is very stylish and works well for both men and woman. I love how I can play music through it and answer my texts and calls so now I dont have to carry my phone around the house with me. I could not be happier with my smartwatch.

AMAZING WATCH!!!

I absolutely LOVE my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier! I've had other watches and I also have the Gear S and Gear S2. The Frontier is a beast. Has just about everything you can ask for. I use Samsung Pay all the time now too. I get tons of people asking me about it and giving me compliments at work. 2 of my employees now own them as well. If you're looking for a watch, don't hesitate this will out do them all. I love all my Samsung products. Keep it up, Samsung you have one very happy customer here!

Great Watch, Amazing Battery Life

Had the S3 Frontier since the week before Christmas after preordering it. Amazing battery life, 3 days on average. many features and watch faces you can download. Wish there was a decent google maps or google interface since most of my information is thru Android and google. Not as many apps to download as I would have thought.

My Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really happy with the S3 using it everyday for my rehab after suffering a stroke over the xmas period, i lost use of my left arm and partial left leg, the activity reminder tells me to get up and walk around and do my exercises which is good for my physiotherapy. the screen is nice and clear, sounds are also nice and clear, so i never miss an alert, also voice control is handy for when i fall i can call for help if needed, only thing i don't like is the strap and having to choose which watch face to have as there are so many...lol. I cannot fault it so much so my brother wants one and a couple of friends of mine too. This is my first smart watch and i was sceptical if i would ever use it other than a watch, since my stroke it has been as lifeline and well worth the investment, the buttons and bezel wheel are easy to use as well as the touch screen. Battery life is ok i charge it every 24 hours or so, but the charger is easy to use and quick too. I would highly recommend this watch, especially if you are a keep fit fanatic, or as an everyday watch, with so many watch faces too choose from as well as design software to create your own as well, apps are sparse but being developed. I'm looking into getting a metal watch band as this strap supplied is uncomfortable and awkward to put on with one hand...and personally think the black metal band would go well with this watch. to summarise great functionality, easy to use and navigate, battery life is ok looks and design are great don't like the strap provided, packaged well.

Go Go Gear S3

The Gear S3 is truly the next generation in Smart Watches, combining the simplicity of an analog watch with the complexity of a smart watch/fitness tracker in one easy to use little device. I already use the Gear S2 as my daily driver so I was interested to see the improvements that Samsung has made with this new iteration. I have been using the watch, I guess you can call it a watch but it feels more like an extension of what is always in my pocket or near me. I’ll call it a watch for simplicity. Over the month, I’ve been using it, putting it through its paces and trying out the different features it has done a lot to impress me. My journey has not been without its bumps but they have been minimal, I have had a lot of “wow that’s cool” moments and it’s always nice to experience the tech envy from friends. There has been some discussion about the size and although it is large for some, for me as a bigger guy it fits well. It has a nice weight to it which lets you know you wearing something of quality and you notice when it’s not there. The size offers many improvements over the S2, the larger screen on the S3 offers an easy to navigate interface. I mistyped my code on the smaller screen of the S2 but the S3 minimizes that. It also makes reading my notifications much easier, as I have gotten older my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be so every little bit counts. The new bezel design keeps my fingers from slipping even when they are dried out or sweaty. On the S2 this was a pain point for me and I often had difficulty spinning the smooth dial. With the rigid edge design on the S3 you can rotate it without slippage. There are a ton of different watch face options unlike other devices, I personally like the stock one out of the box. The chronograph/tachymeter that is built into the stock face has come in handy for many different applications and its right on the home screen. The chronograph also classes up the watch to give it less of a digital feel and more of an old-school appeal that I find in analog watches. The screen is as tough as a Gorilla, for those of you that don’t get the analogy (no Sapphire here). I have bumped it into a ton of stuff and not had a scratch. Some of these bumps had a real pucker effect but every time I look to assess the damage, there was nothing to be found. There was one small issue I did notice on the screen when I was changing the watch faces. Mine has a dead pixel on it that is viewable when utilizing a white face screen. It’s a bit of an annoyance when you have the red dot starring back at you but it’s not the end of the world. I have contacted Samsung after going through the process on their website and answering some troubleshooting questions they have decided they will email a pre-paid shipping label for 2-day shipping so the process should be quick. Aside from the dead pixel, the screen is amazing, the colors are vibrant, I can read everything even in bright sunlight and some of the watch faces give the illusion of a reflection on the face, which is a nice touch. As a smart watch / fitness tracker it is ready to go to work right out of the box it is packed with enough features I didn’t feel the need to add any apps from the app store. The last part of that statement is very important, this device comes loaded out of the box with the apps it needs to perform any of the tasks I needed. From a smart watch standpoint, you can make calls, text, set reminders customize watch faces and even pay for your lunch with this thing. The call quality is like using speaker phone on many other devices but better. I have had people not even realize they were talking through my watch (be careful with this, it can get someone in trouble). I started using the fitness tracking with my Gear S2 and have become a much more avid user with the S3. Setting fitness goals and having the reminders throughout the day to let me know I have been sitting too long are great additions. I loved the built-in stretch exercise you can do simply by getting up at your desk. The mid workout encouragement helps you to stay focused and lets you know you're almost done. Once you reach the fitness goal at hand you get a review of how you performed. Competing with yourself helps you move forward in your fitness goals and gives you a good indicator of your improvement. The sleep monitoring was a revelation, I didn’t realize how little sleep I was getting every night until I put this thing on. After tracking my sleep and seeing that I wasn’t getting enough I began making changes to get more sleep. This resulted in feeling better throughout the day and even thinking more clearly. It’s refreshing to have a piece of tech that helps me make improvements on my health. When it comes to being a smart watch, the Gear S3 is a testament to Samsung’s “Innovation Made for Living”. The battery life gives it the longevity to be useful even if you take an occasional call. I could get 24 hours out of it with 15% to spare. It’s call quality, text messaging and notifications all add up to one thing, making my life easier. Whether I’m sitting in a meeting or out and about, I get notifications that let me decide if I need to pull out my phone or not. It even lets me act like inspector gadget when I take a call while doing other tasks. The microphone works so well that I can talk like normal without feeling the need to yell at my wrist and creating panic in the people around me. The voice dictation feature is great for sending text messages and you even get the option to send the recording or the text. This works pretty good but could be a little less clunky as there is an occasional lag when texting. If you don’t want to be weird in public you can simply draw the characters for your text message one at a time. It takes a bit longer but still gets the job done. The quickest way to respond to text is to use the pre-determined responses which you can customize. Most of the time my responses fall into this category but it’s nice to have the other options, it’s all about flexibility. Samsung Pay has seen some improvements making it work much more seamlessly. I started using it on the S2 and it only worked about half of the time which was frustrating when holding up the line to make it work while the suite behind you is piercing your soul with their eyes. With the Gear S3 I just tell them I’m using NFC, activate it on my watch, swipe and go and that’s how it should work. No feeling guilty for taking too long at the register like the person with the check-book. The Gear S3 has been a real asset to my daily life. Making things more simple is the whole purpose of technology and the Gear S3 does just that. If you’re in the market for a device that will make your life easier, I would recommend picking one of these up.

Best specifications on a smart watch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so happy that I have had pre ordered this product. It's been a month since I've been using this watch. This is the watch I was waiting for along time. The battery life is the best in the smart watches, after using for 3 days I recharge it when 20% is left. The bezzel is so smooth on gear s3. After all I want to thank samsung for this amazing watch.

Great watch

This is my second Gear I have been using my S2 for many years and it has been flawless. My last watch went through much abuse and never gave a problem. I finally replaced it because the trim on the rotating ring came off and one of the buttons was hard to push. With all the abuse that watch went through I am confident this S3 watch will last me many years. Even after the severe abuse I put that watch through the finish still shined and looked great. I highly recommended Samsung Gear watches they are top quality and worth the small amount they are selling for and much more in my opinion. Samsung pay works just as good using the watch as it does using my phone, I use Samsung pay often. The battery on the S3 lasts for days much longer than the S2, l last charged my watch over 24hrs ago and it still has 69% charge.

A decent improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At the beginning of the smartwatch era I bought the Gear S, it was a beautiful watch, but slow, really slow. Soon I bought the gear S2, unfortunately it was the version without LTE, so I always needed to keep my phone close. Now, testing the gear S3, I feel like it is much better than a regular watch, but is far from replacing your phone. It is beautiful, there's nothing to argue there, but that's it. All other functions feel empty. Despite the bigger screen, calling, messaging, and using the apps feel unnatural. Despite being faster and having a better battery life than the S2, it is still very hard to answer to a text with it if you got big hands. Most of its functions will not be used daily. Now, the always on display is really nice. It lasts for a whole day with it activated, and the health tracking is very nice. Even though the heart beat sensor is not too accurate, its good enough. The thing I think has to be worked on the most is the voice commands. S voice is really bad, it should be substituted by google now or another assistant, as it would make the smartwatch experience much better. Despite all, Samsung did a good job as the gear S3 is good after all, and a lot better than all other brands smartwatches.
