Great watch with great battery life love my watch so far.

I have been quite surprised after using my Grear S3 for a week. I am much impressed by the battery life it provide and the options to provide extra saving of the battery. It lasts about 4 to 5 days with the notifications turned off and connected via Bluetooth. Even last longer with the power saving mode. I have been using the other android watches for quite a bit. This is my favorite one. The watch faces look great and best among the watch lineup that available in the market. I had a Bluetooth version of the S3. The Samsung pay without the need to carry the phone is super awesome. I had it for last 3 months and i am very surprised to say there are 0 issues with the watch. The quality of the bands are so good i just want to leave them on forever. I am quite impress by the activity monitor taking though the day even when sleeping. the app sore has pretty useful apps which are very useful. some more useful apps would be great. it would also be great if there is a battery drain indicator for every app available on the market. I have seen some 3rd part apps on the market drain more battery.

First smart watch

Let's start off with the one I have is the tmobile one (Frontier) This is the first smart watch I've ever owned and I have absolutely fallen in love with this watch! I have owned and still have some really nice watches big heavy thick built like tanks type of watches (Invicta ones ) .. The Frontier is not as heavy and not as thick over all, but the quality is top notch. The band is of pretty decent quality it's a soft rubber and is fairly comfortable. I kinda wish it had a leather or full Metal band but that's just my preference and in no way takes away from the watch in any way.. the 22mm quick release band does what it's supposed to do and is very easily replaceable and if you shop around online you will find plenty to keep you happy in every color and texture. The watch it's self is very easy to use and navigate around in , it's pretty easy to just start turning the bezel or touch the screen and just look around to find what you're looking for, not overly complicated. Watch faces, apps, fonts ,security ect... There are a few things that I'm still trying to figure out, such as removing the music I put on there.. still looking on how to do that... which brings me to the other thing that I wish for on this over all almost perfect watch.. the storage and memory both I just wish were a bit bigger.. just a bit more ram would have been nice... and the biggest on the wish list is way more than just 4gigs ... with the built-in apps they take a big chunk of space.. not sure if possible but 8 would have been really good and 16 gig would have put this at near perfect level for me.. I understand that the wish list would have put this at a higher price point but I think in my opinion it may have been worth it. The set up was easy and painless.. receiving messages and phone calls again were on point.. the sound quality was perfect from both ends. The placing of called and writing text was on point to also.. but fyi.. the writing on the small screen I found to be more of a hassle so I just spoke out the message I needed to send. Just so much more I can say about the s3 Frontier which would be almost all good and maybe 1 or 2 things bad , but the good definitely outweighs the bad , so much so that even with the very few things I found that I just wish were a bit better or just more ,this is an outstanding, well balance and good looking watch that is a flat out must buy for yourself or that special person in your life. Also if you have never owned or thought of a smart watch there is not a better place to start. So far I almost find myself using it as much or more than my phone. Especially if you are in a job or place that pulling out your phone is not convenient or possible. Being able to read or answer your calls or text messages discreetly is pretty nice also not having to worry about having my phone or forgetting it the car or my home and still being able to have those that need to get in touch .. well get in touch.. is really really convenient. For those that have this watch ....enjoy it.. for those on the fence just get it!!

Great at work, pays at lunch, and talks to my smart home with Tasker/IFTTT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this watch to review for The Insiders campaign #insidersgears3. At first I thought I wanted the Frontier with LTE, but found I prefer the Classic bluetooth version. The Classic version looks great in the office: - Has a stainless steel case which is more formal, less rugged looking. - Looks great with almost any replacement band. - Has thousands of watch faces, many free, all the luxury brand watch faces, plus some very functional faces, all found with a little searching. - Bluetooth/wifi connection means no monthly fee. - wifi settings from your phone are saved on the watch. It works standalone without the phone. My favorite apps for the office are: - Corporate email - StockQuotes - Text messages Your corporate outlook email goes right to the watch, saving you time. No longer do I need to return to my desk to check email. Outside the office, my favorite app is Samsung Pay. You can leave your phone at home and the Gear S3 watch still works on credit card terminals. Integrating with home automation can be fun with the Gear S3. The watch can be customized with Tasker (on phone), TaskS2 (on watch), and IFTTT (for the web interface) to control smart home devices. I can open my garage door (using Garadget) with a button created on the watch with TaskS2. Great watch I plan to keep.

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having never previously owned a smart watch, I was looking forward to seeing what the S3 was all about and I must say, I haven't been disappointed. I've had the Gear S3 Frontier around a month now and I'm still getting used to some of the features of this very attractive looking smart watch. I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and prior to this a Note 4 so am already a big Samsung fan. Out of the box it feels like a premium product with a good weight and premium materials. The large (but not too large) 1.3inch screen is a great size for a smart watch and wouldn't look too out of place on smaller wrists. The watch comes with the large strap fitted but also has the small strap included in the box. Samsung have really thought about the rotating bezel, I love it, and it has a good quality feel to it and can be turned easily using one finger, making it really user friendly. The wireless magnetic charging dock is very simple to use. One great advantage though is the quick charge which gives you about 10 hours use on a 20 minute charge. I also like the way the watch face turns on its side when docked which is great if you have it by the bed side overnight. The Tizen operating system is simple, easy to use and is very quick. It comes with many pre-installed apps and watch faces which can also be added to using the accompanying phone app. I will say the app choice is a bit limited currently but I'm sure this will improve over time. It needs Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp applications to finish it off. The built-in S-Health app is also improved with the aid of the new sensors. The Barometer and the Altimeter are great for tracking how many floors you've climbed and the GPS is good for distance and speed if you run or ride a bike. The IP68 rating also adds good protection too if you're sporty or if you like a bit of outdoor activity, I have worn in the shower and it is still operating perfectly. The battery life is great. Samsung say you should get 3 to 4 days out of it but I'm getting just over 2 day with the watch face always on. I'm sure you'd get more if it was off but I like it to look like a watch when I'm wearing it. I've experimented with many different watch faces from the official routes and some of the un-official stores, but I always seem to revert to some of the standard built in faces. I find the 4GB storage more than enough for what I want. I've currently used 1.47GB of the storage, this includes the operating system and pre-installed apps as

Would it be the best SMart Watch on the market?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is good piece of kit although not for everyone. Some will find it difficult to justify high price, but some will find it very valuable and helpful. I’ve used mine for few weeks now and I’ve got mixed fillings. Let’s start with the benefits. For me (engineer working at heights), the best function is a built-in speaker and microphone. I don’t have to reach for my phone to receive or make a call. Great! It can be very handy whilst driving as well. The same with notifications, messages, email etc. Reminders, calendar and other similar feature known from smartphone are good but you will still mostly set up your reminders and appointments on the phone. It’s just easier on the bigger screen, but notifications popping up on your wrist are a good thing. There are certain aspects of the phone you can control via the watch like sound level, music and video. Additionally you can control the camera via the 3rd party app and probably much more I didn’t discovered yet. Not bad. I like to be gently waken up by the vibrating watch with no sound whatsoever. If you need a little bit more, then full volume will wake up most of the people. I don’t really us all the things like weather widget, news feed etc. but they are there if you need them. I’m enjoying using S Health app. It automatically recognises your activity, constantly monitoring your heart rate and movement. It takes few minutes to recognise the “workout” and it’s not always accurate but gives you a new perspective on how active you are. Nice bonus of this new “smart” technology. It will even remind you to get up and stretch when you seating steady for too long. It automatically tracks your sleep patterns and can be paired with the mobile apps to get even more insight in to your night. To Aps then. I didn’t install many aps or widgets so far but you can find anything from new watch faces, through aps from various categories like: finance, lifestyle, social networking, entertainment, utilities, etc. ending with the games. Yes! You can play games on it! Having said that, the choice is not grate at the moment. There are tens, maybe hundreds of apps, some free some paid, but it’s still early days for smartwatches. More will definitely come in the future. Design wise – it is a good-looking watch. I’ve been testing the Classic version and I have to say it’s not my personal style. It looks very good, shiny, with the leather strap etc.

Excellent smartwatch

I have been using my Gear S3 for 3 months and I only have good things to say about this gadget. This is only my second smart watch and compared to the previous and a set of sport tracking bands this is a better product with a lot more features and customization options. Highly recommend this smart watch

Great as a watch but not as a fitness tracking device

It is great looking watch with broad selection of screen faces, battery is great and many other options are amazing but.. its altimeter is a mistake because shows different readings from same place, watch will not count your stairs at all or maybe 5% of it and steps are not accurate as well. It is not finished product or software has many bugs. Not recommend buying if issues are not fixed.

Best Android watch but....

This is my second android watch... looks amazing, performs amazing and it is well done. the only reason I did not rate 5 stars it is because has no link with Whatsapp messenger. If you use daily, like I do, the only thing you will be able to do is just reply a message using Whatsapp. You can not creat or look your old messages/contacts. there is a ruge limitation using the app on the gear s3.

Some Great, Some Work Needed

Needs to add a Google search feature. to Google search the internet from The Watch. Talk to text recognition is shotty at times. Mainly when I'm driving and I need it the most. Waterproof works really well. Have taken a bath and shower with it on more than one occasion. Fitness applications work well, but limited on the amount of fitness trackers that can be added. Banking, stock market, and other apps that are used daily should be added as well. Factory added Bloomberg app is useless. Wish Samsung would have kept the camera on the watch. At this price point there should not be a limit on futures.

Lacks basic features

this is my 2nd gear s3, both have lacked basic wristwatch functions right out of the box. i shouldn't have to download a separate app to add stopwatch functionality. additionally, at about 2 years of ownership of each, they both seem to slow down and not do various things. they both stopped giving text notifications. my 2nd one will not charge fully because the screen does not turn off if it is on the charger. it will constantly display that it is charging but once it reaches 100% it will stop charging and then use whatever charge it has to keep the display on despite me verifying the correct screen/display settings.
