Before I decided to purchase this watch I did my fair share of research. This watch is exactly what I've been looking for. The mic and speaker plus the smooth bezel make for easy navigation of the watch interface The only thing that's missing is more Google options as far as maps and voice search. S Voice is terrible in my opinion. I nearly never use Svoice on my phone because it constantly messes up where Google search has very few to no errors understanding what I'm saying. A detitcated Google Maps Navigation would be a great addition to the watch and allow for directions without needing to look at my phone. The 3rd party maps are a little sketchy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having not worn a watch for many years, I was a little unsure if I would have any use for this product, but it was new tech and being a gadget kick I had to try it. The longer I waited for the email to say had been successful the more I got excited, I read and watched as many reviews I could find. When it finally arrived I was not disappointed it came in stylish packaging and was very simple to set up and connected very easily and quickly to my phone via the gear app and Bluetooth. Love the wireless docking charger. I have never had any issues with battery life and only every charge it for about half an hour each day while I shower and get ready for work. The rest of the time it never leaves my wrist. While it would be better if there was more apps available I guess they will come in time, I love the s health app which allows me to monitor my sleep patterns, steps, heart beat and lots of other info. I have used my phone while hiking, hill walking and on our allotment in all kinds of weather and it's proved to be rugged and durable. I love how easy and Smooth it is to move through screens to the one you want and then just touch the screen to open that screen. I have found receiving or making a call very easy and very clear reception. Messages are easy to reply to using s voice or using reply templates. From being unsure about how I would use this device I have gone to how I would manage without it. I know some people may be put off by the price tag but I believe it is a superb and stylish device and worth every penny

Feature most dragging my attention was the possibility to pick up calls and speak trough watch, without taking out phone hidden deep in winter clothes pocket. It looks great and the build quality is high. The two subjective flaws in my eyes are 1.its big size, 2.not suitable for swimming. But I bet, the next generation will solve even this :)

Great look and feel. Most apps are great. Face is bright and clear. Wish it were waterproof to 50 meters like the apple watch. Wish it had map my fitness app. Battery will last two days even with using the gps and Bluetooth headphone features for a 40 minute run every day.

I've had the watch for a couple of months, it's replacing a Fitbit Surge. It's easy to use and has many customizable screens and settings. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the heart rate monitor. I used my Surge to train in target heart rate zones, and the Gear will at times fluctuate wildly on the heart rate. I once saw it go as high as 210 bpm.

I bought this about three years ago. Recently a crack appeared in the rear of the watch and soon after water ingressed and the watch broke down altogether. It was a good watch while it lasted...but I’m not interested in watches that don’t last pretty much indefinitely. This isn’t such a device and if you’re like me and don’t want to be throwing broken tech into recycling, I’m afraid, I’d avoid it like the plague. Sad, watch manufacturers can’t play the same games with watches they play with phones...at least, I hope not...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this smart watch for roughly 3 weeks now, and I've yet to have a complaint. Accepting calls and replying to texts is simple. The built in apps are great. Paying with Samsung Pay is quick and ez.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gear S3 Frontier is a standout in it's design and aesthetics. From the moment I took the watch out of the packaging I was blown away by it's solid feel and look. The watch itself is sturdy and has a decent amount of weight to it. As a 6ft tall guy it fits well on my wrist and does not feel to heavy when being worn. The moment you turn the watch on you realize how amazing the screen is. It's very bright clear and easily readable. Over the first day I found myself looking for excuses to look at it and use it. The built in apps are nice and there are some additional ones to be added but unfortunately, this watch leaves a lot to be desired on the integrated app front. I went with the frontier option because it was advertised as the active version. Considering that it has a surprising lack of active apps. Other than S-Health there are no integrations with your most common running, biking or hiking apps (even ones that where supported by the S2). There also appear to be apps in the advertisements that don't exist (the one where the biker is getting turn by turn directions on a trail). Overall I would recommend the watch to someone, but suggest they go in with eyes open. There may be a bevy of apps integrated in the future but at the moment the pickings are slim, which is really sad for a device that I really love to wear.

I worked in manufacturing all my adult life and wearing watches or jewelry was out of the question and with the invention of phones that also had the time on them I felt I didn't have the need of a watch. I'm currently retired but driving a school bus in the mornings only. The bus isn't equipped with a clock. I purchased a couple different cheep stick on the dash clocks. They don't keep good time and you can't see them in the dark. This watch time is always correct plus so much more. Samsung Pay, e-mail and text message visibility without pulling out the phone. and so much more that I haven't figured out just yet. I don't make or receive many phone calls and the couple that I have made or taken I can't remember to use the phone to see how that function works. I've used Samsung Pay several times and it works great. With the otter box case on my smart phone I could never get the Samsung Pay to work so I never used it until I got the watch. I've only had the watch for about 2 to 3 weeks. I like it. The one thing I didn't like was the cheap plastic watch band. I switched it out within a few days. I do mean cheap plastic watch band. It was aggravating to try and put on each morning. Plus it was hot and caused me to sweat where I wore it. It's fall now so it's not blistering hot out and this band was hot. I would recommend Samsung improve the watch with a better band.

This watch would be a 5 if there where more apps and if the returning Apps like Spotify and Smart Things would make it perfect I want to be able to turn my tv on with my watch and operate my music with out removing my phone out my pocket. I do like that I can watch Youtube on it couldn't do that with my Gear 2
