It was great that it came with the metal dough hook, I have heard some bad things about the "plastic" one. Recently used it to make meatloaf, it was great not getting your hands dirty.

Got the blue mixer and it is beautiful. Only draw back is for the price and quality why aren't the blades and whisk machine washable? They are easily washable though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a previous kitchenaid heavy duty stand mixer that I loved. But it was starting to clank. So my husband bought me this one for Christmas, it is a lovely boysenberry color. But...the motor has a high-pitched whine that is VERY annoying. I also like the porcelain coated beater, etc. on my old one rather than the aluminum ones on this new one. Too bad you couldn't keep the high quality you used to have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 4.5 quart KitchenAid that has been going strong for 35+ years. This machine has a much better dough hook and the bowl handle is helpful. However, it frequently fails to start on first try and doesn't whip cream as well as my old one. I'm not sure the advantages were worth the cost.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this on black Friday. It is a wonderful mixer and can handle heavy mixing. The bowel lift is different to get used to. I have to add ingredients to the bowl first and then put the bowel in mixer holder. The head of the mixer is in the way to add after the fact.
