[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Kitchen Aid mixture. I love the many beater attachments. But this Is a Kitchen Aid Professional 5 Plus and the mixture does not lift up, the bowl lowers. The. You have to release the bowl from it's secure position. This is difficult for me, because I have had several hand surgeries. I should have studied before purchasing. But it beats the old mixer I had.

Downsized several years ago and gave my tilt-top Kitchenaid stand mixer to my son. Now that we have more room 8n our house, I definitely needed a stand mixer again and my son said “no way” to passing mine back to me. So I bought a new one in one of the designer colors. It looks great. I purchased a scorpion stand this time and find that I like the tilt top better. At least that's my first impressions. I haven't used it that much yet so I'm still reserving judgement on that. But, at the end of the day, it's a Kitchenaid!

I've used it 4-5 times and each time my ingredients come together a little better. At first they were lumpy and you have to do quite a bit of stirring. I've had better luck with my hand mixer but I will keep trying with my stand mixer.

I wished that the bowl guard would be with all these big mixers mine didn't have it. That's why I didn't use it much. I ordered one. Because when I used it it slung stuff out of bowl on low speed then as the stuff mixed i turned it up and it was worse so you need a bowl guard to use this. unless you like cleaning up messes.

My original is a tilt-head and still works great after almost 2 years. However with such a large family, my kids decided to upgrade my kitchen buddy to a larger model for Mother's Day this year. One of my most favorite gifts ever received - it works just as hard as my original, and has a larger bowl!

It has done a great job handling all of my recipes so far, from cake mixes to bread doughs. I never realized how nice it would be to be able to "mix" ingredients while being able to continue to prep other aspects of my recipes--gotta love being hands free!!
