There's no need to scrape the sides of the bowl because of beaters do a good job of getting the whole area. I have a problem getting the the beaters out after mixing. I can't get the bowl off with the beaters on very easily.

I replace it with this one and the love of being in the kitchen and using it makes me so happy. New memories being made with my New one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love this mixer but when I went to use it I couldn't. I followed the book by checking to see if the beater hit the bowl. It slightly did, so you were to turn a screw counter clockwise to raise the beater. I did that and when I turned it on it made a terrible noise. The beater hit the bowl and some of the paint on it got damaged. The bowl didn't sit properly either after that. I returned it and bought the Artisan. Haven't tried it yet.

Although, I had one many years ago not same style but I do not recall it being SO loud on the first and second speed ! Even louder than the higher speeds. Also one down fall is the attachments all three included scrub the bottom of the bowl ( not the sides ).

It is also nice to have the small bowl for smaller volumes like whipped cream. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because it didn't come with the flex edge paddle (I would rather have that than the notched handheld spatula)

Kitchen Aid is replacing it but it's back ordered 4-6 weeks. Not excited about how this looks considering the price and whether the product will last.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second kitchenaid mixer. My first one is the 5 qt tilt head and I have had it for since 2006. It still works but has a bit of wobble to it now and I really wanted to try the bowl lift style. So far I love it. I had heard about the beater not reaching the bottom of the bowl so the first thing I did was make sure mine did and adjusted it according to the instruction manual that came with my machine. I am very happy so far and have used it twice since I got it for Christmas. Kitchenaid makes a wonderful and durable product. I am definitely a lifetime fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this as a gift for Valentines Day! What a surprise! I had not considered a raised bowl model before but after using it I've changed my opinion. Easier to lower the bowl than tilt back the head by far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good mixer and I use it often but the bowl is shorter than my tilt head mixer bowl. As a result the ingredients fly out. I start mixing slow but I am never able to increase to a better speed to get a good mix with my cookie dough. It would be 5stars if the bowl was taller to hold the ingredients in.
