Cool Idea.

Since I have never seen a vegetable wrap before I had to look on the internet for ideas and found none. That left me with my own imagination and I used a cream cheese and deli meat filling and a havarti and fruit filling. They were great once I figured out the best thickness to make the veggie wraps and also which filling was best with which veggie.

where have you been all my life!

Got this little beauty a few weeks ago. have been having fun sheeting different veggies. I plan on trying it on harder fruits besides apples and once I do I will be sure to report. I wish it would sheet radishes. I suppose if I get larger longer one's it might work but other than that what fun our family had making healthy snack rolls and other dishes

vegetable sheet cutter

Another solid well made tool for our mixer. The heavy duty build of their attachments is just awesome. I wish others would follow their lead in building sturdy long term goods you could pass on to others. This has a thin and a thick cut option and cuts great. We used for wraps already and we looking for more creative things to do with it. My wife will try a veggie lasagna with this next time around. Overall a solid tool and looking to get more creative with it.

Great addition for cooks

I received this recently and have been slicing fruits and vegetables. I like how you can make sheets of the different veggies- I've use sweet potato and zucchini so far. You need to get creative with the remaining veggie parts which i just cut into little circles and used them in different dishes. For fruit I used apple and pear- I loved how I could make a full sheet and made a crust less apple pie which turned out great. There were no seeds because it cuts off just before you get to that part. Makes it easy for seedless dishes. My biggest complaint would be that i have to reach over my mixer to get to the switch to turn on and hope I got it to the right setting. It works great but when I was taking the prongs out of the hard veggies it was hard to remove. Overall I enjoyed the sheet cutter and will use it more when I start to make lasagna out of veggies.

Make healthy, eye pleasing foods in just minutes!

I made several different appetizers and my friends were amazed how good they turned out and how they make a tray look beautiful! I also made zucchini lasagna and it was much better and healthier then the traditional lasagna. I also used apples, turnips and cucumbers to roll up and put on a tray as a snack. My family loved them! The presentation alone is worth using this attachment.

Great Product

I received this unit as part of the test and review program. The unit worked exactly as the description said. It is a great product to add to the many features of the Kitchen Aid Mixer Family. I would highly recommend this product to everyone.

Works Perfectly - Funky tool!

I received this attachment as a beta tester and was very curious when it arrived. I tried all the obvious things first; sweet potato fries, daikon salad, sushi wraps and zucchini lasagna. (Sooooo much tastier than store bought seeweed for a wrap). I am an avid baker and wanted to try incorporating apple into something. First I made apple cinnamon pastry roll ups and finally made a rum raisin apple ribbon pie I've been dying to try for years. Presentation was spectacular and pie was appreciated. I don't see another way to make this! I plan on making a vegetable ribbon pie as well with the same method and savory base in a tart shell. The tool works cleanly and perfectly, thick or thin flat ribbons for wrapping, layering and garnishes. It's easy to clean and the storage box is perfect. Two thoughts that are not specifically negatives. I wish it had an adjustment for how wide to cut the ribbons. It is one flat ribbon and I could cut that afterwards into shreds so its not that difficult to live without it. The other is that this is a result that takes some creativity to think of neat dishes that take advantage of wide flat ribbons of vegetables or hard fruits.

Experimental

I have never heard of using vegetables as a wrap. I even tried to find some recipes on the internet but did not find any. I had to kind of use my own imagination on the best way to use the veggie wraps. I mixed up a cheese spread and layered the cheese with sliced meat. They were pretty good but it would have been good to have something in the user guide to help with how to use them.

Great Gadget!

I have made a zucchini (in place of pasta) lasagna that was delicious. Also, used refrigerator dough with apple inside that was an excellent treat. A fun and useful attachment!

So Disappointed

I have loved every KitchenAid product I have ever purchased - and I have several, but the vegetable sheet cutter was a huge disappointment. The food has to be nearly perfect in quality to get a consistent "sheet." Cutting off the ends wastes food. I tried potatoes with the thin blade and zucchini with the thicker blade. I had luck with one potato out of 6 producing a "sheet." There was, of course, an inner core of waste. Was not able to get a sheet of zucchini as the blade did not seem sharp enough. Just mushed up my vegetable. So surprised as this is not a typical KitchenAid product. Bummer.
