Great Spiralizer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kitchenaid equipment is pricey but high quality and durable. I've used a couple of my spiralizer blades since I got the attachment several days ago and they performed perfectly. I think the purchase was a good investment. Also the packaging is superb. No more losing that small piece in a kitchen drawer.

Blade spiralizer

I brought the spiralizer some time ago. I was given apples and decided to bake a pie or turn the apples into apple sauce. Instead of hand peeling the apples I decided to use the spiralizer: quick ,fast and to some degree kitchen fun. The spiralizer was great and the pie/apple sauce was delicious. The spiralizer is easy to use once you put it together. Great for some one who has difficulty using their hands. Cut down on cutting, peeling fruits & vegetables.

Love it and hate it!

I love this for soft veggies like zucchini, beets, potatoes, apples. It's so convenient. However, when I've tried butternut squash and rutabagas, they get mangled by the attachment. I had a padermo prior to this and the one thing I note is that the attachment spike disc was a much larger diameter. This seemed to help it secure the vegetable better.

Cores and peels apples in seconds - I'm in love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had spiralizers previously but this one is so much better! It cores and peels apples in seconds, it spiralizes all different sized spirals in seconds also and it wastes less of the zucchini /veggies. My manual spiralizer - u would always have to waste an end of the zucchini (like 1/4 of it) and the spirals were so thin they were almost like shavings. This attachment makes for real thick robust spirals in seconds. U do have to cut off the ends of the veg but it spirals entire veg instead of wasting the end. What a great gift from my bf! I give it 4 stars rather than 5 stars bc it's pricey compared to ur standard spiralizer or food processor at about $75, but u sure do get what u pay for!

Some Veg More Difficult Than Others

I was so excited to see that KitchenAid made a spiralizer attachment as I have difficulty doing veg like butternut squash on my manual spiralizer. Sadly, I could not spiralize it using the KitcheAid either! The fruit and vegetable skewer spun around, making a hole in the squash, and the blade got bent. I had a similar experience when trying a sweet potato. Better luck with beets and zucchini though. I am happy that I got it as it does make really fast work of the zucchini, but for the price and given the metal construction, I would have thought this would have been able to handle the butternut just fine. I love KitchenAid products, but would be hesitant to recommend to others until the spinning-skewer is sorted out.

:(

I think I've spent as much money in potatoes as everyone seems to need to have a go round to see if they can figure this out. The blade doesn't make contact with the sweet potato or potato, depending on user's choice. Of course, everyone has to verify that the blade is right. It was. The holder isn't strong enough to hold the veggie as it just spins. First kitchen aid product I've purchased that I'm not happy with. I gave it five stars for features, the features are great, they just don't work! Guess I'm done you tubing and trouble shooting. It will be returned.

Peeler does not work on potatoes

I was so disappointed when I attempted to use my new attachment to peel potatoes for Christmas dinner. The product simply does not work. I read the directions and watched multiple youtube videos to ensure I was using it properly. I hope this issue is fixed in the future.

Poor instructions provided by Kitchen Aid on usage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 5 blade spiralizer is great once I figured out how to install the blade and use it. The instructions with the product and the instructions on line on the Kitchen Aid website were non existent!!!! No pictures, no videos, no written instructions. Only instructions were for the peeler!!! I am so disappointed in Kitchen Aid!!! I did find a video on U-Tube and it is not hard, I just needed a picture or instructions.

Easy and fun to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this 5-6 times already and I love how easy and fun it is to use. I was afraid it would be like some of my other kitchen gadgets that seem more work than convenience but I have been very pleasantly surprised. I have made zoodles more often than I thought I would. I have no hesitation of planning them for mealtimes because it takes little effort to make them with this attachment.

Sturdy Spiralizer

I like the KitchenAid spiralizer because of its sturdy construction, how easy it is to clean, and because of the automated spiralizing (saves a lot of cranking!). Here are the drawbacks, as I see them: the limited length and diameter of the fruits/veggies that can be spiralized (making it difficult to spiralize butternut squash, e.g.) and that the skewer has a tendency to grind through softer fruits/veggies (e.g. green pepper) - consequently, it's a little difficult to justify the cost of the KitchenAid attachment relative to other spiralizer options.
