I started researching memory foam mattresses, because I was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness that causes global pain issues, and finding a comfortable position to sleep in had become impossible. My computer is smarter than me, noticed I was doing a lot of memory foam mattress searches, and threw me a Zinus ad when I was reading Yahoo. Thank you computer! I ordered the 18" steel bed frame - easy to set up, and the perfect height for storage underneath. The frame arrived on a Friday, and the shipment was marked online as "delivered"... but no mattress! A quick call to the shipper (Can't remember if it was FedEx or UPS) confirmed that the frame & mattress shipped separately, and the mattress was on its way. My mattress is a 14" cool gel memory foam (full size). Setting it up was a challenge (I live alone 75% of the time, so no one to help), but I gotta say watching the mattress decompress was one of the funniest/most entertaining things I've seen in a while. I wish someone had been with me to take a video! It started expanding the second I cut into the vacuum-sealed plastic, and was almost completely expanded by the time I finished cutting the plastic off. It went from pancake to POOF! in less than 10 minutes! It's also very comfortable to sleep on. When I lay down I can initially feel all of the pain points (neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees), but after a minute or two my brain goes "ohhhh... this is what support feels like" and I can relax enough to sleep. I'm already budgeting to replace the mattresses in the rest of the house with Zinus!

OMG!!! I love my Zinus 18" full bed frame. What a difference the height of this frame makes with me getting a good nights sleep. It doesn't make any noise at all, and the extra height makes great storage under the bed. It was very easy to put together by myself. Zinus website has the best prices for this item. I will be ordering a queen size for my son. Thank you Zinus!

So first off I have never owned a memory foam mattress before. My bed took about 48 hours to expand to about 90% capacity and then a few more days after I started sleeping on it for it to expand completely, the corners are the only area that took a bit to expand. It was a little uncomfortable for the first couple of days as my body adjusted to the mattress (which is definitely a good thing)! After having this bed for a few weeks now I’m absolutely in love with it! It’s super comfortable and I no longer wake up with back pain like I did on my old spring mattress. I hope that this mattress lasts a very long time!

My first impression of the Gene Metal Deluxe 16 Inch SmartBase Frame before putting it together, it seemed like it would be flimsy. The metal pieces are not heavy. After putting it together, it still seemed like it would not be that sturdy. I like the overall look of the frame. After placing the mattress on the frame it seemed like it was better. I still feel that it is not a top quality frame bed. It can easily move or shift with the mattress on it. Once the bedding, headboard and all the pillows are on the bed, it looks good. I do not think it shifts once sleeping in the bed. However, it will shift when trying to make the bed. The height of the bed lends itself to putting storage underneath. This is a great feature of the bed frame to be able to store additional items in storage containers that can be pulled out as needed.

I have a tiny room and I have no where to store things so I was going to switch from a queen bed to a twin BUT Then I found this which allows me to store things under my bed and I can keep my queen size. So far it doesn’t make any noise & im a big girl so trust me I put that weight capacity to the test. I had some issues w delivery but it was my fault. Overall pretty good :)

This bed frame is awesome! Easy to put together. I have to admit, the bed is way high! Need a step stool to get on bed. Didn't think it would be so high. I do love it but not good for someone who is handicap as I am but there is plenty of storage room for my underbed draws and containers. I would send back for a lower frame but I decided to keep it as I ordered all new bedding and bed skirt for it and it does look beautiful! I highly recommend! PS. My poor dog hates it LOL as she can not jump on and off the bed now without my help.

Bottom-Line-Up-Front: 4.8-5 very satisfied, young professional. I bought this for two reasons; the extra clearance underneath and to replace my Ikea Malm (pressed-wood frame) that was damaged in the Ellicott City flood in July 2016. Set-up is a tool-less breeze and this frame is silent. That is probably a result of how sturdy it is. I'm not sure if it is perfect, however, it seems perfect for my needs. The frame is tall enough that I can very easily vacuum underneath of it with my full size Shark Navigator. Two very small gripes which make this a 4.8-5.0. If you order on Amazon it does not come with the grip mats, but it is not advertised with them there like it is on Zinus' website, so I did not actually remove a star. And two, there was minor damage to a small plastic end-cap on one of the frame-halves I am certain that it is not a manufacturing/industrial material issue and only a result of shipping. Packaging is noticeably simple, which I greatly appreciate not paying for boxes and plastic I intended on disposing of, so it does come with risks like that.

I love my mattress and frame! The whole assembly process was super easy. However, I bought the 10 inch and I think I would rather have gotten a 12. I love a very soft bed. The 10 inch is fantastic for people who want an in between feel. But overall, I am happy with my purchase.

This is our 5th Zinus mattress foundation purchase and we do think they're primary function is to help solve storage issues. And for that, they are superior. I just wish that before people make the purchase that there is some honest communication between manufacturer and buyers that this foundation will make your current mattress more firm. It does take a few nights to get used to. We had a firm mattress to begin with, and now it is very very firm. But we are still very glad with our purchase and obviously with 5 of the frames now in our home, much more pleased with how much extra storage area they have provided.

the ease of putting this frame together was just great. I tried to put together a adjustable frame together an fought for 2 hours and failed. took it back and ordered yours. Got it and 10 minutes later I was done my wife and just love it thanks for making it so easy
