They need to make the cables longer first of all, using it for a RAV4 2020 (terrible in itself), but it’ll work if used correctly. The reason for the one star is that it’ll turn on by itself every now and then- the battery tester will come on, or maybe it’s the compressor. The only way to turn off is to press the button- it’s like jammed but never been used.

I bought this thing couple years ago only used it couple times, always kept it charged up, I thought but it never would charge to full compacity the charging indicator would always blink like it was still charging after two days of trying to charge it. I send It to the recycle dump. The Stanley fatmax has never worked like it should would NOT jump off A dead battery in A vehicle. It's not worth having that's why it in the recycle dump.

This worked just fine the few times it was needed during the first year or so. Now 3 years later it will not hold a charge. After charging it says it is fully charged but as soon as you turn it in to do anything it is completely dead. It gets minimal use and is charged regularly so that is not the issue. But after the manufacture warranty is expired it no longer works.

Too heavy, too cumbersome, designed with too many circuit parts and places for failure. Would not recommend to anyone. You have to maintained it charged every other month, cant leave in warm/hot places (eg. garage), can leave in cold places (eg. garage). Check YouTube to see the problems people have had and how they fix them, that will convince you not to buy.

I've bought two of these. The first one quit holding and providing charges after the first year. The second one failed the 1st time I tried to use the compressor. I attached it and it make a big clunk sound inside (as if something disconnected) and it wasn't able to fill the tire. The compressor is totally shot. I'm done trying this model. Too bad since it has great features and if it worked as advertised and intended, it would have been great.

I bought this for an easier way to jump start my riding mower and occasionally top off the air in one of the tires. I've used it 3 times to jump start the mower and it worked great. Used it once to put air in a tire. After last use, I charged it up for next time and put it away. A couple of weeks ago, I heard a noise in the kitchen when I got out of the shower. The dang air compressor came on by itself and it wouldn't turn off, nothing worked. I took it outside in case it overheated or something. It ran until the battery went dead and the compressor shut off. I plugged it in just to see what it would do and it wouldn't even show it was trying to charge. Now to see if Sam's Club will take it back. The last one I had came from Harbor Freight and it lasted over three years.

BAD/BAD? Bought this Unit in Oct.2022 Very Slow the Charge/PSI Tire Gage Was not correct, read out/Used Tire Pump 5th time, Large Pop at 42 Pounds never to work again/ Read out for charge not working/ Metal insert Tire Connector Broken off/ I love the concept and had the 1000 Unit for several years and had no Problems at all with it. This one is Bad and can NOT use at all

I can personally vouch for the FATMAX's ability to jump large vehicles (I drive a Chrysler Town and Country) and it's ability to inflate tires quickly. I used to have to pay a few bucks at the gas station to fill up the tires but this is just so convenient and quiet. Jumping the car is so easy too. With this in my car I really have been able to relax about my recent battery issues because I know I can always get a jump!

I'm on my second unit, as the first was defective out of the box, having a bad battery. From the very start, the charging indicator never got past three of four bars, regardless of how long it was charged. Immediately after unplugging from AC, I tried to inflate a tire for one minute, and the charging indicator immediately fell from three bars to one bar.

This has kept me on the road to address issues, such as when I had a car with battery/wiring issue when I first got this product. And since, when I things like screws in tires and one that leaked and it turned out it was a cracked wheel(!), but all I knew was I had a leak initially. It's great that it has an alt check, that helped me out when battery seemed to have died; determined it was not my alt. So, here's what I am not a fan of (design and personal squawks, except the last thing): various locations of controls and the air pump tube are awkward. Can't simply set it on ground and pump tires while looking at the screen. Has to be sideways, at a weird angle. Air tube's length is barely enough for my SUV's wheels if the tire stem is up higher. Too short, I say. It weighs a lot, so I don't know who is going to use it to power things via USB, unless you do a lot of camping and bring this (obviously, not to bring hiking!). Don't drop it from about waist height, it might be done for. Those big black sidebars aren't going to save it, as they are not guards for unfortunate events like dropping it, they are plastic handles. I dropped this when struggling to get it onto a counter 31 inches high. It fell, and the info screen and most of the control buttons all fell inside. Cannot open it with just unscrewing some screws. There are what amounts to rivets holding those sidebars on. So, even though I could correct this problem if I could open it, easily, I'd have to destroy the case to "fix" it. So, it's a perfectly working piece of junk without accessible controls, seeing as I cannot reach all the controls or see the screen now. That's just a warning to not let it get away from you while carrying it.
