Doesn't last

I purchased 3 of these to give as Christmas gifts to my adult children. Now all 3 are dead and non-functional. This product obviously has some sort of design flaw, since all 3 units did not last the year. Since this product is made to stay charged and kept ready for an emergency, it isn't like it is used all the time. It can't stand occasional use. I paid much higher than the current price for these, so I am not happy. This was not a case of a cheap product not lasting--I specifically purchased this due to the Fat Max name with an expectation of a quality product that would last.

Verified Purchase

Never fails or leaves you stranded

I just bought this charger when I saw an older lady standing in the rain next her car which had a dead battery. I told it’s fresh out of the box it may need a charge. To my surprise it was charged and I am 63 yo it’s easy to operate works right out of the box. Great product!

Poorly designed and bad quality control

Out of the box, there are a few major issues with this thing. The plug requires an extension cord. If they added 6 inches of of retractable or folded cord, it would immediately improve. Second, the build quality is terrible. The buttons shift around and feel like they are cheap plastic floating around behind a crappy frame, the stickers (not that they matter) are crooked and peeling out of the box with the edges lifted. Though stickers are irrelevant, it is just a sign that 0 care went into making this thing. The last and worst up to this point (haven't used it to jump anything) is that the power does nothing to disable the buttons so if you keep it in your trunk and something hits a button, the USB turns on and drains the battery. There needs to be a kill switch that prevents this in order to avoid dead batteries. Overall, it's disappointing that Sam's club would carry this junk when there are much better versions out there and it is disappointing that Stanley would put out such a poorly designed product.

Will not inflate tires

Only have had it a few days but found out it will not inflate anything with a valve stem. Air line does not depress the pin in the middle of the valve stem allowing air to pass through the valve stem. As soon as you try to use the compressor with a valve stem the compressor shuts off because it is only compressing the air between the compressor and the valve stem. Do not know if other Fatmaxs have the same problem.

Its a life saver AAA club jump starter for $69

I'm reading the reviews and people think it's a 12 V DC to 120 V AC inverter, battery charger, etc. It's not. It is a jump starter in case your car/boat battery is dead; air compressor if your tire is down; and it is a small, compact 6 plug usb charger. That's it (can't forget the eye blinding LED light that it has). Well worth the $69. I bought 3 of them. One for my boat in case I run all of the stuff (charging the phones, stereo and amps, kids charging their ipads, etc.) too long while on the lake and can't turn the engine. 1 for my camper for the same reasons and 1 for my truck in just in case any of the above happen and I need a jump or air in my tires. Come on people. It is really lightweight and has a rechargeable battery that you use an extension cord to recharge. You don't even need a 3 prong extension cord to recharge it. $69 at Sam's for a peace of mind.

NO OWNER'S MANUAL!

I can't find an owner's manual online anywhere. Where can I get one if Stanley Tools doesn't even have one posted online anywhere? This is VERY DISAPPOINTING! I just bought the attachment set you see in a picture I posted, and want to know how to replace standard tip with tip that comes with attachment kit...which incidentally...Stanley directed me too when I was looking for compatible attachments. PLEASE ADVISE!

Junk box! Not jump box!

Worthless since I bought it! Only things that really worked are the light and tire pump. As far as a jump box it's a piece of garbage. Seem to drain when not in use, takes for ever to charge, one or to jumps its dead. Don't buy should have taken it back right away. But procrastinated.

Will leave you stranded, waste of money

I purchased this on 2/8/22 and used it once back in July. I tried to use it again when my car battery died and it said the battery was low and wouldn't give me a jump-off. It has been plugged up for 3 days using three different outlets and cords for charging and it has yet to charge. According to Google reviews, this is an ongoing issue with the battery that Fatman is aware of, yet they won't fix it. The cost to replace the battery or ship it back to the manufacturer is as much as the charger itself. Don't waste your money or time. Dead within a year and can't return. Waste of money

Works Great ... then poof, it's gone

I've had three of these things now and they work really well out of the box. Before you know it, they quit. Not the first one, but three now. The concept is good, but since this is made in China, they need to reevaluate that manufacturing issue.

Stay Away!!! Run Away!!!

Stay away from this piece of junk. People who made this product should be put in jail for making junk like this. First it doesn't come with its own cord to charge. And for most it will fail miserably when you need it the most and get you stranded. 9 out of 10 times it will fail to crank your car/lawn mower. Just run away from it and don't look back.
