Bought this last month hoping it would jump start a defective $1000 generator I had bought at Sam's w/ 35 hours on it. Repair shop suggested a 1000A jump starter would allow me to start it when needed instead of tossing it. This FATMAX was on sale at $54 and did 3X more than the NOCO G40 @ $99. FAXMAX wouldn't even budge it to start, bought the NOCO G40 instead, started generator on first crank!

Srtay away from this product. If you are lucky, it might last a few months, or a couple of starts. There are some really nice features, USB Charging Ports, LED Lights, Alternator Check, Air Pump that you can set the PSI you want and it will automatically shut off once it reaches the pressure you set. Here is the problem, the unit randomly started turning on the LEDs, couldn't turn them off till battery ran down. After recharging, did the same thing, so I kept the unit plugged in to keep a charge on it. I bought 2 of these and they both crapped out in just a few months and I only used the jump function 2 times. I primarily used the air pump. I say do your research before you buy. Plenty of reviews on YouTube where these have been recovered from the trash or given away by frustrated owners. Since I was past the warranty period on both of my units, I opened one up to find loose connections to the main battery and some other loose wiring to the control boards. ( probably due to the vibration when using the air compressor) However, there is one huge design flaw that will guarantee the battery life will suffer. This jump pack has a 12 V 17Ah SLA battery and when you plug in 110V AC to charge the pack, it uses a what appears to be a standard 12 V DC wall wart that puts out about 500 MA. This will take hours to recharge the pack and it will never, I mean never fully charge the pack. You need at least, 13 to 14 volts to fully charge the internal battery to 12.6 volts.

Marked down to four because the last one I bought crapped out at 1 1/2 years. It worked great and did the job but think I liked the previous form factors better. Have one of the earlier vertical form that still works great, have the one that looks like battery and it is great. The first ne like this started going nuts and the work light would come on and random beeping. Have not received an answer from Stanley's offshore manufacturer. Went ahead and bought this one because it was on sale. Was tempted to buy the Harbor Freight one probably made in same Chinese factory.

When you look at a product like this you may think it would be nice to have, but you’ll probably only use it if your battery ever dies, and hopefully that is rare. But with this, not only can you jump your battery, but you can charge your phone, pump up car or bicycle tires, have an emergency flashlight, check your alternator. This is a very useful product that you will use regularly and is there in case of emergency. Make sure to keep it charged.

I only wish I had read the reviews for this product before I drove a 120 mile round trip to buy one (because my local Sam’s was out of stack). I charged it up all night as instructed, but was still flashing charging the next morning. I then took it outside to put air in my vehicle tires. After screwing the hose to the valve stem, I set the pressure to 35 and started the compressor. It started, but sounded odd, so I stopped it and removed it and put it back on and tried it again and it still made a sound like it was laboring very hard to pump any air at all. It was only about 3 PSI low, so I figured it would take only a few seconds to fill and shut off....5 minutes later, it was still running, so I turned it off. I checked the pressure in the tire and it had not added any air at all. Tried it on a 2nd tire and the same thing happened. This thing is a complete piece of junk. Took it back for a full refund. After seeing the negative reviews, I wish I had read them before I wasted my time on this item. This thing doesn’t even rate a single star.

Bought two of these. Both had the same problem after about 6 months. Electronics are total crap. The display screen and buttons on one went out, so you couldn't tell if it was charged or pick a feature. It couldn't be recharged because the electronic screen wouldn't show anything. The other one had the little light kept coming on at random, and display screen wouldn't work, and the control buttons wouldn't work, so you couldn't turn off the light. Battery kept dying because I couldn't turn off the light. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Total cheap piece of crap. Worthless as a gift unless you want to buy for someone you hate!

This is the 3rd one of these that I've bought to go in different vehicles. I've used them for starting cars with dead batteries and for inflating low tires out on the road. The air compressor isn't very fast but it works well enough and beats having to try and find one of those overpriced gas station vending inflation machines. This unit also can test the car's alternator so I knew if the problem was with the battery or alternator.

I had a low tire and thought it's only 10lbs low I will try the Stanley emergency compressor/ jump starter so I know it works before I depend on it. It changed from the sounds from high to low as it worked just as the manual says then a couple minutes in it made a loud clanking noise and no longer pumped air. I let it sit for awhile thinking maybe it overheated on our 100 degree day. No luck it is dead. Returning it to our local Sam's club.

I bought my first one almost 5 year ago. It is still working great. I also bought 2 more over the last couple years - so we have 1 for each of our cars. We do not use these daily, but we also don't just leave them sit in our vehicles until they die, and then it's not there when we need it. The unit has 4 bars indicating the battery life that is left. When it gets down to 1 bar, I usually recharge them. If we are going on a longer trip, I charge it full before we go. These are very slim design, so there is NO room for them to include a charging cord, which you are not going to want to deal with when on the side of the road anyway. I've had to use mine in -25 degree below zero temps, and you want something quick and easy to use. It works great - you set it on the ground right next to your tire, connect the nozzle to your tire stem, adjust the PSI to the pressure you require for your tire, and it runs until it reaches that PSI. When not on the road, we use these to inflate bike tires, water floats, as a changer for phones, etc. I jump started my riding mower. Like I said, these are amazing units, and not just to sit in the trunk for peace of mind. Use them, recharge them, and use them again. It is always better to be familiar with something before you're in a crunch and trying to figure it out while sitting on the side of the road! There is some amount of user responsibility too people! Don't leave a bad review just because you didn't pay attention to the fact that it does not come with a charging cord.

Great little air compressor. It works as well as professional compressors at your local repair shop. Put 4 new tires on my wife’s car and this inflated them with no problem with one battery charge. Have not used the jump start feature yet but got it for the air compressor
