This is the perfect size for my cat's food. She tends to overeat but these bowls only allow her so much. I did have to put a small plate underneath otherwise she just pushed the bowl all over the kitchen,.

Always buy these plates. They are sturdy and if I need to add another for support then that’s fine with me. I use the second for dessert most of time .
