The raised edge allows stews and gravies from spilling out (well, as long as the portions are within reason!).

This plate is better than name brands! I’ve served big steaks and potatoes with veggies and it didn’t go “limp”! I’m impressed! Plus I saved $$$!

We have bought these plates numerous times. This particular purchase we opened the plastic and the plates had a terrible wet wood smell

It’s a paper plate. It works as I would expect it would. Not flimsy. You could even do a quick rinse on it if it was lightly used and use it again.
