Yes, this is a lot of beans. Love the price. We just work gradually through the bag.

I've cooked these beans twice so far. The first batch was pre-soaked for eight hours before they were added to a chili to simmer longer, but I added tomatoes immediately after which probably hardened the pectin, so maybe my fault. The latest batch I cooked plain and according to the package instructions, and they were still hard. I attempted two basic internet solutions to save them: adding baking soda to the water and simply cooking a bit longer, which improved but didn't solve the problem that I was still crunching beans. So I did a lot more research and learned how the water's pH level and its calcium and magnesium content affects bean softness and think that Sam's might want to invest in some better R%26D into its bean-cooking instructions. A lot of places in the US, mine included, have hard water that doesn't work with your instructions. I'm still working through this bag on a consistent solution myself. This is all assuming you aren't selling us old beans, which would make cooking them impossible.

The black beans were very clean and I didn't find one stone in the 12 pound bag. I will buy these again.

Cooked these beans in my Ninja Foodi pressure cooker after soaking in water overnight. Nice and tender and flavorful.

This is the second bag that I have bought that are old tasting. They take longer to cook and deli not taste fresh.

Stores in my area are not selling beans in large quantity bags. Sam’s is the only place we have found them in 12 pound bags. We eat a varied diet with quality beans included. This product is good quality.

Good to have on hand for a lot of different uses. These are easy to prepare and fresh. Good to supplement your protein needs in a vegetarian diet and delicious. Beans are good for you and highly nutritious!

Can't beat online variety and free shipping. I wished they had this in the store like they used to. Excellent product with no need to look for stones and foreign items.
