I bought these containers and loved them until I became educated on BPA and the harmful effects it can have on your health. I looked on the bottom of the containers today and realized they are made with plastic #7. Code 7 is the recycling code for plastics that contain BPA and must be avoided at all cost. Literally the worst type of plastic to store food in.

I really like the kids. A handle comes up from one side, and you lift the lid off of the container with it. There is a rubber seal around the base of the lid that keeps your contents sealed air tight. One of the first things I read on the box was to hand wash only, so I did. They cleaned up nice and I was glad they made the rubber seal under the lid easy to remove for proper cleaning. It was also easy/simple to put back on. One set would be good for someone who doesn’t cook/bake often. However I would purchase two or more if you have a big pantry and use a lot of flour/sugar/pastas, etc. You really only get one good sized sugar container that I would equate the size for flour as well. Before I forget, do not ever lift these containers by the lid or it will pop off. Handle the container by the base when picking up or moving. These look nice filled and if you care for them properly should last a long time, they are of good quality & well made.

I have revamped my entire pantry with these. Yes the sizes vary but they work great. I am purchasing my 4th set now. They work well even for pasta, cereals (unless you buy bulk packs: my organic cereals fit fine in them), crackers, trail mix, and a host of other things. They are air tight. As others have stated be sure they are completely dry and you remove the rubber ring before you wash and reinstall after they are completely dry. You won’t regret this purchase.

Glad I got these, I ordered 2 sets on sale. Pros: lids are interchangeable for each set of four, snacks stay crisp, and staples stay fresh (flour, sugar, etc.) The only con: when I wash the lids they get water in them and I have to shake it out. I'll have to wipe the lids rather than submerge or use dishwasher.

Just want to point out that it’s actually 8 canisters with 8 lids. I thought by the name that it was only 4 but when I read the description it said 8. Haven’t taken them out of the box yet but will update if something goes wrong. I did curbside pick up & it was very easy.

After only a few uses, these containers begin to crack in the middle where the hinge is on the lid. Basically the lid is TOO tight and it warps the container. After about a year, we only have a couple of the containers that are still usable! Do not buy!

We purchased a set of these containers a while back since they were on sale. They are not airtight as we have had two instances of bugs (grain beetles) getting into the sealed containers. On several occasions food, such as wafer cookies and chips, have gone stale within a few weeks. The lids are impossible to dry (water remains under gasket). Many of our containers have cracks around the rim and along the base. Overall not impressed and will not buy again. Want to throw these out but husband doesn't want them in a landfill, so trying to figure out where else we can use them...

I wanted to like this dry food pantry storage set, bought may be 4-5 years ago. The problem is, it's not shatter proof. A very light or if it slipped from your hand then it will break. Any type of hit on the hard surface can cause a crack in the container so, kind of useless and you've to discard it. I've ordered a shatter proof container set from Sam's online store after using this set. Which is little more than this set so, let's see.
