I tried the cranberry and pecan topping from Fresh Gourmet. It has mostly cranberries and smaller pieces of pecans. The pecans are heavily processed so that they are almost like a rice crispy texture. It tasted similar having an airiness to it. I added it to a salad and again, the cranberries flavor was the only thing that really carried through. I may possibly take the nuts and separate them out. I will use it in overnight oats and also slow-cooked oats. It is a fantastic value for the price with all those cranberries. Good flavor and pecans were crunchy. Cranberry to pecan ratio is too many cranberries. Calorie count is good but sodium is a little. I love this stuff. It's tasty on top of everything from sweet to savory. Everytime I need to bring a couple of dishes to a party this always makes an appearance. Last week was my niece's baby shower, I made a coleslaw using bagged, shredded, tri colored cabbage, jarred coleslaw dressing with this mixed in and everyone flipped over it. (Honestly I was a little disappointed as I also made pulled pork plus 3 other dishes) and this is what got all the accolades. It's also awesome mixed with broiled Brussel sprouts, or as a sweet potato or yogurt topping. It's very versatile. definitely a kitchen staple that elevates every dish. Love this in Oatmeal - cooked OR the baked (pastry-like) kinds, plus in/on various kinds of salads, from green salads to chopped turkey w/mayo, etc. Just wish I could buy more. Sam's Site says in store only AND that it is available, but won't let me purchase online to pick up, AND was not anywhere IN the store yesterday. I know things are different right now due to Covid-19, but all the more reason to keep employing people who can update the website with current & accurate info. ALSO frustrated there is no way to contact corporate other than wait for a Chat opening - 30 min or longer. Should be a way to email for lower priority questions and requests.
