I always have packages to send out for returns and this is an awesome shipping tape to use to tape up those amazon boxes I need to return. I love the compact size and the ability to keep it tucked away in a drawer to use when needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a 3M - Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape Dispenser for free. I like this design because it is very ergonomic. It fits easily in my hand and is very easy to maneuver. It’s a simple design with convenient raised ridges on the sides for better grip. The tape rolls and dispenses easily and smoothly and tears easily with the metal guide. The small blades are not sharp to the touch but are effective at tearing the tape. I’m very satisfied with the simple, yet effective design.

It dispensed very easily and smoothly. This tape is strong enough to tape cartons of books with just one strip! The adhesive on the tape really holds. The other thing I like about this tape is that it is clear so it can easily be used over labels without fear of covering important shipping information. The amount and length could be a little longer but it’s enough. The tear teeth are sharp and make it easy to get any size piece you need.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do alot of selling on e-bay and have tried diffrent brands of packaging tape but nothing and I do mean nothing compares to Scotch Brand Premium Packaging Tape. You get what you pay for The other ones don't stay on so I am through wasting money I will only use Scotch brand products so no more wasting money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape is perfect for shipping and packing large boxes. It's nice and sticky and each piece is evenly cut because of the dispenser. Used this to send some packages and the tape held up well with the boxes.

Its really easy to use and sealed up my package with ease. It was simple and the tape teared off great! I had no problems using this product! I highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product to evaluate for free from 3M. I actually have an older model that I use all the time and both models seem to be the same style so I can attest to its durability but there are things that can make it better. The cardboard piece that covers the blade can not easily be removed (see picture), sure the flap piece comes off but the part behind the blade does not slide out once the flap is off. This can interfere with getting a clean cut of the tape, I'll probably have to use scissors to carefully cut it out but it could be easily fixed by having the holes align with the part that is ripped off so that it slides out on its own without risk of injury. Additionally when the roll was still full, it would sometimes get stuck and not rotate easily, I couldn't actually find the sticking point and it doesn't happen on my older one when I put in a new roll or now that I have used several layers on the new one. The tape itself also doesn't unroll smoothly but instead sort of jerks out in segments. Finally the inner latch that you use to replace rolls could be designed better, it doesn't always stay closed. In fact on the older model, I just use a piece of tape to keep it closed but again the design could be improved to keep them shut. As to where I use this product, I send baked goods to deployed soldiers every week so use these packaging dispensers to seal the boxes and apply the mailing labels to the box. These boxes are tossed around a lot during their journey overseas so need to be taped securely. I have been sending these boxes for almost 5 years and have sent almost 350 boxes so the dispensers and tape do work but could be improved with my suggestions.

This dispenser works great, but now that the tape has run out, I would like to purchase refills. The only way to do so is to buy the entire set with another dispenser, or dispensers. (I now have two empty dispensers) Is there anywhere I can purchase just the rolls so that I don't have to waste plastic?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a hard time with most types of packing tape - the tape always peels unevenly off of the roll, making a mess and forcing me to waste some of it. Not so with this one from 3M! Not only is it heavy duty and super easy to tear, but each layer of tape stays whole, making it so much easier to use. I'm going to use this brand from now on. **Note: I received this item for free, but my opinions are not influenced by that fact.**

This past Halloween, being in a time crunch, decided to use a much cheaper clear packing tape. Not surprisingly, it was nearly impossible to start the roll, and the dispenser itself was dull. We ended up using scissors to cut. Most importantly, it just would not stick! We used double the amount of tape just hoping it would work. Oh well, now we know! Scotch Rocks! Thanks for an AWESOME product!
