[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am used to using the packing tape so using the Heavy Duty version I can instantly tell this is a more durable tape. It feels stronger and it is stickier. I think it would last a very long time. I received this free to test and review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best packing tape! This is strong tape, but easy to handle. The dispenser is compact but very effective and easy to use. This tape is strong enough to tape cartons of books with just one strip! The adhesive on the tape really holds, unlike other packing tape it won't pull off when you least expect it. I received a sample of this tape and used it and another brand when packing up my daughter's old books. The Scotch brand tape was clearly superior. The other brand needed several strips to hold heavy loads, but the Scotch tape was more secure with a single strip. That saves time and money!

The tape dispenser is easy to use, the tape is heavy duty. I had some cheaper tape that needed several strips of tape to hold the box shut. The heavy duty tape held up well during transporting. I can't say enough positive things about this tape!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Scotch heavy duty shipping tape. In my opinion it is the best tape I have every used. I was packing up some items to store and had picked up broken down boxes. The items I had to put in were heavy so I had to use the tape to actually make the box and then seal them. It was the best tape ever. It adhered to the box and did not peal back or seem week at all. I went out and bought the exact same one that I received as a sample to review since it was so good. I recommend it for those who need to not only ship but to box up items that may sit in your garage.

It held very well, in fact, she said it had to be cut to get it off the box. Nothing inside got damaged. This is definitely the strongest tape I have ever put around a package.

Scotch heavy Duty Packaging Tape seals seams with just one strip of tape- even on bulky surfaces. The tape is easy to dispense and apply. The dispenser cuts cleanly - a bonus! The other quality I like about this tape is that it is clear so it can easily be used over labels without fear of covering important shipping information. The strong adhesive quality of this tape along with the ease of dispensing and application make this an economical and reliable tape to use for packages.

I actually have an older model that I use all the time and both models seem to be the same style so I can attest to its durability but there are things that can make it better. The cardboard piece that covers the blade can not easily be removed (see picture), sure the flap piece comes off but the part behind the blade does not slide out once the flap is off. This can interfere with getting a clean cut of the tape, I'll probably have to use scissors to carefully cut it out but it could be easily fixed by having the holes align with the part that is ripped off so that it slides out on its own without risk of injury. Additionally when the roll was still full, it would sometimes get stuck and not rotate easily, I couldn't actually find the sticking point and it doesn't happen on my older one when I put in a new roll or now that I have used several layers on the new one. The tape itself also doesn't unroll smoothly but instead sort of jerks out in segments. Finally the inner latch that you use to replace rolls could be designed better, it doesn't always stay closed. In fact on the older model, I just use a piece of tape to keep it closed but again the design could be improved to keep them shut. As to where I use this product, I send baked goods to deployed soldiers every week so use these packaging dispensers to seal the boxes and apply the mailing labels to the box. These boxes are tossed around a lot during their journey overseas so need to be taped securely. I have been sending these boxes for almost 5 years and have sent almost 350 boxes so the dispensers and tape do work but could be improved with my suggestions.
