not for me

As an espresso drinker and spending much time in Italy I find this to be a totally American roast. Bold and like drinking campfire smoke. a bit on the bitter side for me. espresso is not a roast but the method of extraction. Any roast can be used for espresso. all in what you like. If you like it than go for it. takes a lot of steamed milk to tame it down. too much on the French roast level for me. works well for a French press or pour over. cowboy coffee for sure.

Burned, bitter, oily. Terrible coffee...

Recently bought in a local convenience store (basically lack of alternative in the current crisis, only whole bean coffee in the shop). Couldn't go though more than a 1/4 before I binned it. Needed to clean my mill as the smell and taste stuck... Absolutely and shockingly terrible. It made me feel sick. Poor coffee quality covered by over roasting the beans. Very dissapointed.

Not for Espresso

I am not an aficionado. I do not have a grinder. I am a Starbucks fan. When I recently went back to making my own espresso, I finished off the Starbucks Espresso Roast ground coffee I had. When I bought more - Espresso Roast ground, I quickly discovered this grind is for coffee not espresso. I find the label "GROUND" deceptive but really I am upset I have a relatively expensive bag of coffee I can't use and I apparently can't buy the coffee I need.

Verisimo Dark Roast Espresso

I have been a satisfied consumer for many years, however, the new packaging makes it too difficult to tell the difference between the regular and decaf pods. Also, both types of pods seem to be weaker than before. I have to use more pods than I have in the past. I can't seem to make a decent espresso at home with my brand new verisimo espresso machine that I purchased thinking my old one may have been the problem. I don't know what you have done to the pods, but I liked it before. Have you put less product in each pod?

Dark, strong, earthy almost woody flavor

Amazingly rich and very fragrant coffee. To brew a pot or a shot, espresso blend is to awaken a festival of senses. The smell is refreshing, the taste is envigorating and even the texture has you wanting more. With dark, strong, earthy almost woody flavor it's sure to please.

Of course I would buy this product again

I have been buying this product for many years. Time to time again I can see a defect on pods like it got bursted. But my last purchase one had more happened any other times. It made me frustrated in the morning when I'm ready for work. I ended up making another one again.

Awesome! Even from drip pot

At the moment all we have available to us is a drip coffee maker. It is really good on its own with maybe a little bit of sugar, but it only gets 4 stars because it tastes kinda weak when mixed with milk. even with a typical cafe au lait ratio of 2/3 milk 1/3 coffee its flavors get lost. I usually also use 2 tbs for only a 3 ounce shot of coffee, rather than for 6 oz like recommended, to get a stronger small amount rather than a weaker large one. Like i said though, great on its own with a little sugar, i like it better than the espresso i got the other day at olive garden.

Absolute love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love coffee and it's an everyday essential for me. I love trying different coffee styles and Starbucks expresso roast ground coffee is one of my favorites. It's not too strong and has a good amount of caffeine. I love trying it with latte and milk with coldfoam.

NOT ESPRESSO

This is not espresso that you can use in an actual espresso maker. This is ground like regular coffee and can only be used in a coffee maker. Disappointed as you would think starbucks would make it actually finely ground to make espresso in an espresso maker like your supposed to? Just tastes like regular coffee

Pods are exploding in machine

I love the taste of the product, BUT 6 of the 12 pods in the first box exploded in the machine and pass grains into my coffee. I have had such a hard time with customer service online and in store I don't have enough patience to try to call and rectify. Such a bad experience all around. Giving it 2 stars because it does taste good when it works.
