An excellent espresso !!

I've tried several different espressos over the years and in my opinion, nothing has the well balanced, depth of flavor quite like this one. This espresso in a cup of hot, steamed milk is perfect in so many ways. No need to add anything to the flavor. It has it all!!!

Why the large grind?

We have a Breville espresso maker and needed ground beans. I bought Espresso Roast, glad to be able to get good beans for a change without having to drive 20 minutes. When I opened the bag the grind was large, like for a coffee maker. Why would espresso be ground for drip coffee? If you want dark roast, there are other options, this should be ground finer, otherwise it's a waste.

My Favorite Starbuck by FAR!!!!! YUM!!!!

Espresso Roast is just the right balance of flavors. The carmel, smokey taste is bold yet does not have any bite to it. I add milk to mine to try copying a Starbuck Latte plain. I wish Starbuck would sell in K-cups the espresso and milk --Latte set as they do in their coffee maker cups..

Oops! Won't Work

I thought the pods would fit any machine. Oops! Won't work with my brand new Anniversary Gift Kuerig machine. Bummer! Oh well unless Starbucks creates a universal espresso roast pod that will work with this brand machine, I'll be forced to purchase their coffee pods in the future. Geez come on Starbucks give in a little.

I heart my Verisimo

Thank you Starbucks for making a home espresso machine that lives up to what is served in your stores! I owm 2 Verisimos - 1 sits in the kitchen and the other in my bedroom. I enjoy 2 Americanos per day made w/ the Espresso Roast Verisimo Pods, that are just as great as those served in store! My first Starbucks Americano of the day is made before i even get out of bed!

Always Fresh and Rich

I am one of those people that NEEDS coffee to get me going...like before I leave the house. Unfortunately, that means I must make my first cup of espresso myself. :( When I discovered Starbucks Espresso Roast I finally found a super fresh roasted flavor that is deep and rich with something like carmel flavor. Every bag makes the same great cup of espresso! I have tried fresh roasted from local places and they just don't compare in consistency and quality. The only downside is that it does not come complete with a barista and I have to clean and refill my machine with water and make the puck of espresso, but, I can live with that.

Espresso Roast Whole Beans

I recently purchased a burr grinder so this is my first time buying the whole beans instead of grind. I really like Starbucks Espresso. I've never been much of a coffee drinker but give me a latte on a cold day and I'm a happy camper! Freashy ground sure does taste good!

Expired bag received - disappointed

Just received the Starbucks expresso roast beans that I ordered. I am shocked and disappointed that Sam's Club is mailing out coffee that is past the use by date. I've never seen this happen. It must have been sitting around a long time. I think I'll return it for a fresh bag. What a hassle.

Forgettable.

Blatantly, this coffee is not good. Compared to other coffees you can get in the same price range, this one misses the mark and carries the price tag because of the Starbucks name. After cupping this coffee I can verify it is one of my least favorite coffees I've had in a while. I'm not a fan of dark roasts usually, with a couple exceptions, but this is the reason why. Starbucks has roasted this coffee beyond recognition, ruining the hard work of their farmers and suppliers by burning their coffee so harshly that the taste us unrecognizable. This is the reason the beans are so oily, by the way. Nevertheless, my theory for such a disgustingly dark roast is that they believe the long roast time will cover any inconsistencies while growing the coffee. i.e. complexities in altitude, reliable processing, excessive fermentation, etc. could cause different flavors in the coffee, therefore roasting it so hard that there is no flavor will fix it right up. It's pretty shocking how dark this coffee is, but compared to the raw shoe rubber flavor of their Italian roast, at least this one is bearable.
