We have been using French Roast exclusively in England since Starbuck opened their stores in this country. We consider this to be ,by far, the best Starbuck product and have introduced it to most of our friends. We are therefore dismayed that it was discontinued late last year, a very unfortunate commercial decision. Has management got an answer?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee is way better than what you get at a Starbucks. I used my french press and it made wonderful cups of coffee. When you open the package you smell the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee. I highly recommend this coffee and I would definitely purchase again.

I bought a 1.5 bag of already ground coffee. First batch was underwhelming. I thought I’d miscounted the scoops to water ratio. Round II; underwhelming. Looked up on line and got to this page. Noted the unhappiness. Now stuck with a bag. I increased the coffee to water ratio by 50% to make it stronger. The “Good News,” I’ll be through this bag 50% faster.

I've never been a big fan of Starbucks espresso, so I was completely surprised and delighted when I tried their coffee and found it to be absolutely delicious! Both the French Roast and Caffe Verona are bold and extremely flavorful without being bitter. I don't know that I've ever had such great-tasting coffee! I originally purchased these blends for the office but both the French Roast and Caffe Verona now have a permanent place in my kitchen at home.

The last two bags of French Roast (bean form) we purchased here in Oregon are nasty. There's a horrid aftertaste that makes the coffee undrinkable. Sadly, this coffee has probably already flooded the market by now — the only SB coffee I could stand, and now there's nothing :(

After years of drinking Cafe Verona (which I still love), this has become my favorite coffee. It is intensely rich, aromatic, and smokey, but still smooth and easy on taste. Goes well with anything and everything in the morning. What a delightful way to start the day!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these KCups!! It's such a nice dark roast, and the small hint of smokiness and caramel is delicious. It's my go-to afternoon coffee for when I need that boost to get through the last part of my shift at work. It's an excellent roast, and I will definitely keep getting more.

This blend did not have the body commensurate with it''s very strong smoky aroma. While I could let the aroma slide I really didn''t care for it. While it is mentioned in the description that it is a burned roast I think it was overdone. Whether that had to do with the lack of body - I don''t know. It''s not a bad coffee - just not something I''d buy again.

I Love Starbuck's French Roast! It is rich and bold without that acidy aftertaste common in other brands. The Sumatra Decaf is also a great non-acidic dark roast - I mix them together and brew in my drip pot for a lower caffeine coffee, and I cannot taste the difference. the decaf is also so good tasting, you'll think it is full caffeinated!

Starbucks French Roast has been my "go to" coffee for the last 20 years. I've looked, but found nothing to beat it. I started out with whole beans, grinding one pot at a time to keep the coffee as fresh as possible. A couple of years ago my granddaughter gave me a Kuereg machine, so I switched to Starbucks K-cup French Roast and it's just perfect for me. I order in bulk, because each K-cup is sealed and therefore always full flavored and fresh! If I want a second cup, it takes less than 30 seconds and tastes just as fresh as the first cup.
