However, I was deeply disappointed with the aroma and the flavor. It's too harsh of a flavor, almost acrid. Like burnt tasting. And the aroma, I know there is a smoke component in it, but I was hoping there would be some sort of caramel scent and nothing. I did like that it was a dark roast and the packaging is nice, but it's just not my style. #ad #freesample

Once i open the bag it smells horrible, not just burnt something smells like dirt, i had to proceed tho and try it and it didn’t taste good as well. The packaging however is nice easy to open/reclose.

The second pot, I added just a bit less grounds. It turned out better. It is a bit oily and that is the reason for the 4 stars. I would recommend this product for people that like a bold cup of coffee.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the richest, darkest coffees I have ever tasted. It brews surprisingly smooth and goes down easily, and the sweet smokiness was generally very warming and balanced. However, in nearly every cup brewed, there would be a few sips that were overly smoky, almost burnt tasting, no matter how well it was stirred. It tastes good by itself, but add a little creamer or milk and it becomes a delightfully dark and cozy brew that packs a caffeine punch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a #freesample of French Roast. I thought I was a medium roast person and always shied away from dark roasts. But this is fantastic! It is bold, but not overpowering. It's smooth with a slightly sweet back note. Not like flavored or chemical sweet. It just leaves a great taste behind. No bitterness, no heaviness. I already have another bag in my shopping cart.
