This is the only coffee we drink anymore and it saves us money because we only make the number of cups with our KCup machine that we are going to drink instead of leaving partial pots of coffee all the time. The flovor is bold and not acidic. A great way to start the day.

even though it was purchased on starbuckstore.com. it's truly inconvenience to bring the empty bags to the store and ask for the free drink. hopefully starbuck understands this and promptly giving out star code for those who couldn't find it from their purchase.

The French roast is a rich and darker blend that really brings out some pop with the flavor. I have a k cup every morning and it always does the trick. I tend to mix it with only a small bit of creamer because I like my coffee strong and this French roast is just perfect for it.

Starbucks has a great line of dark roast and this has a real natural flavor to it. K pods are so convenient this box comes in a package of 10 recyclable k cup pods. Easy for carry and convenience. This is 100% ground Arabica coffee.

I never travel without French (or Italian) Roast VIA. The only problem I have is that I frequently share my VIA with friends, family and strangers but sometimes I don't have enough VIA in my handbag for everyone!! Do you think Starbucks can design a rollerboard case so i can carry hundreds of packets of VIA and then I will never find myself anywhere in the world without it?? haha..just kidding about the rollerboard..but seriously.. thank you for developing such a wonderful product!!

This blend did not have the body commensurate with it''s very strong smoky aroma. While I could let the aroma slide I really didn''t care for it. While it is mentioned in the description that it is a burned roast I think it was overdone. Whether that had to do with the lack of body - I don''t know. It''s not a bad coffee - just not something I''d buy again.

I really love strong, dark and rich coffee and the French Roast Whole Bean is perfect. I live in a very small town in an underpopulated area and it's often hard to get this coffee. It's wonderful to be able to order it online, Quick and simple and coffee in my kitchen. Thank you. Judy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not the usual Starbuck product user but I like a dark roast coffee. I used the Starbuck French roast in my espresso machine, and then I made a pot with my regular filtered coffee maker. The flavor turned to be quite different. In my humble opinion, this makes an affordable good espresso, which keeps the delicate caramelized & sweet, aromatic taste that resembles the taste of black licorice. The aroma is very delicate and won't leave you with the bad aftertaste that many ground coffee has. I won't trade the current brand I have been using, but I will consider SBUX French Roast if I ever need a second option.

The box I received had an expiration date of Dec 2014. I realize that is two months away. However, local stores are selling the same product with expiration dates of April and May 2015. There is a definite taste difference in this coffee when it's within a few months of expiration -- perhaps b/c of storage in facility? Otherwise, this product is usually good. Customers just need to know they might not get the freshest coffee by ordering direct from Starbucks (as I had assumed).
