I had two samples of Pike Place within a gift basket. I finally tried them yesterday, and it was wonderful! The coffee is VERY smooth, no bitterness. I added a touch of vanilla soy milk to the first cup, and a touch of almond milk to my second cup. They were both delicious! No sugar needed! This easily has become one of my favorite coffees.

Ever since they changed the pikes place coffee, it hurt my stomach . I can’t say for sure that was from the coffee but I stopped drinking it and am feeling much better.I had been drinking pike place for many years without issue but noticed when they changed the bag to “toasted nuts” I started having problems. As if today, Day 5 no coffee. Will never drink Starbucks again. I was a great customer drinking 2-3 cups every day.

I have been drinking Pikes Place daily for many many years... Its my only go to blend in stores and at home as well. The last few months the smell.. taste.. color and body of Pikes has changed for the worst. No life.. no flavor. It tastes like dead coffee. Watered down.. the coloring has changed as well. Weak. New packaging in the stores states notes of cocoa and rich praline. The original Pikes Place as well as the package pictured on this website says rich flavors of cocoa and toasted nuts...thats the good stuff..however stores are now stocked with new blend and packaging saying cocoa and praline...Huge difference. Starbucks changed the blend to a weaker blend and kept the name Pikes Place thinking the customers won't notice. Shame on you Starbucks. This new Pikes is awful. You should promote this new blend as Pikes light or something else. It is flavorless watered down coffee. Please bring back the original Pikes Place and rename this new blend of Pikes in your stores or better yet.. remove it. I love my local baristas.. they go above and beyond to make the customers happy but unfortunately.. I won't be visiting Starbucks daily if they cant bring back the original delicious aromatic Pikes Place. Why ruin a good thing Starbucks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very please with the bold (not overly strong) flavor of Starbucks Pike Place Roast coffee. I was afraid that it would be too mild, but I was mistaken. I am adding this to my K-Cup morning coffee rotation.

I have been drinking the Starbucks Pike Place Blend (black) for the last 5 years as my house coffee. I drink it daily and have absolutely loved it. However, about 2 or 3 months ago I noticed that the coffee tastes cheaper and more bitter. It's definitely not the same blend that it used to be. To prove it, I opened an older bag that I saved and it tasted excellent, the way that I have become accustomed too. However, when I compared it to the new bag, the new bag tasted far worse, much more bitter. The variation isn't due to the bag because I have had this problem with the last 3 bags of Pike Place Blend that I have ordered. Thus, I would like to know if you altered the Pike Place Blend to make it a cheaper lower quality coffee. My strong suspicion is that you have, which would be very unfortunate since it's the seminal coffee blend that made Starbucks an icon. SBUX's thoughts would be appreciated.

This is fantastic coffee! Anyone who me knows that I have been drinking a full pot of coffee daily virtually my entire life and I am 47 years old. I am also a former Starbucks barista. The whole beans means that this bag will last you much longer than say a can of Folgers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I drink my coffee black and the Starbucks Pike Place roast is a little too robust for me even though the package says it is a medium roast. Starbucks coffee tend to be more stout especially in the coffee shop. It is smooth tasting to the front of the tongue but then is more bitter towards the back of the mouth and upon swallowing. I really can't taste the note of cocoa or rich praline that it claims on the package. I would probably like it more if I was a cream or milk user as that would mellow out the taste. It is great to be able to have a Starbucks coffee in a K-cup but I think in the future I will try another Starbucks K-cup selection. However, I will drink the rest of the pods!

I was blown away with how great it tasted. I could taste a little hint of Cocoa and a nutty flavor too. Looks like I might be a coffee drinker now.
