Its has a bold yet smooth flavor and smells great. It does make a rather large pot of coffee when using whole can. I spilt into two servings and was still just as fresh as the day before.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Starbucks - SBUX French Roast Ground is nice. Very pleasant flavor that isn't to strong despite it being a dark roast. Very lovely aroma while brewing, coffee beans have been conveniently ground so no need for grinding on my behalf. I would defiantly recommend!

I bought this product to give it to my dad as I greet him on Veterans Day. He was so glad when he saw it and that made me really happy! I thought he's gonna consume it for like 1 week or two but I forgot that he's a coffee lover and he said that he really liked the flavor that he used it in just three days

I can't believe such a major company could make such a blunder by discontinuing the ONLY coffee you carried that was worth buying. I just tried the Italian Roast (way too bitter and lacking any real flavor) and the Cafe Verona (wow - what a HORRIBLE lingering aftertaste). So, I no longer have to make the drive to any of your locations. Never minded the trip when you actually had something I 'really' wanted. A company with your kind of cash flow should be able to handle a 'sluggish' selling item (and I will 'never' believe that this brand wasn't selling.) Clueless. Period.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is very tasty coffee. I usually drink the donut type coffee. This is a little stronger than that but has excellent flavor. Strong but not bitter and pretty smooth. These coffee pods are excellent for iced coffee. I make a 12 oz cup and add some sweet cream creamer and a packet of stevia. Pour over ice and you have a very tasty drink. Overall I would recommend these pods to anyone who enjoys a robust cup of coffee.

Bought a bag of whole beans at my local grocery shop, looking to try out brands that I don't usually buy. When I opened the bag, my first impression was pretty nice, the smell was deep and aromatic- like a French roast should be; the color seemed a little too dark, darker than other French roast brands, and I suspected that it was burnt. I went on to brew my coffee using the drip process. Seeing as I'm a coffee junkie, I made sure that the temperature was right, the filter was pre-wet and warm, and whatever else those enthusiasts do. I never drink my coffee black, I always add something like ice cream, or milk. The taste was burnt, and bitter, and the almost disgusting aftertaste stuck with me for a long time. I tried it thrice actually, and was disappointed each time, especially when it sits for a minute, it is almost undrinkable. I've never had such a bad experience with other brands of French roast coffee, I can tolerate bitter tastes pretty well. Needless to say, I'll be taking a break from French roast for a while, and will never buy Starbucks brand coffee ever again, sorry :(
