Daily I grind the French Roast bean coffee to an extra fine texture and use it in a high pressure Expresso machine. Two cups in the morning and I'm set for the day. The stronger the better; really no down side to this roast but you had better like a robust flavor.

Absolutely my favorite VIA ~ Bold, strong & real coffee! Simply delicious without any bitterness ... The French know how to make great coffee! ;) Hopefully, during this lovely, snowy Wintertime ~ SB's will come to their senses and Restore their Delicious Original VIA ~ without any fake milk powder EVER again! Those VIA Lattes (back in the day) could not be beat - anywhere!! Peace.

Why Starbucks? Why? Starbucks French Roast has been my favorite at home drip coffee for over 10 years. And then all of a sudden it tastes different. Gone is the Smokey flavor I would sip on and enjoy in the morning. Now it’s too sweet, too light, almost watered down. It’s not my machine, the last two bags of Starbucks have been horrible and I brewed my mom’s favorite one day on my machine and it was just fine. Why change a good thing?? If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it! I feel like I paid premium coffee price for a store brand knock off.

Only $120/lb Hawaiian's, self roasted to an oily black (but not sooty) roast beats this. But why bother - SB's French Roast (and Espresso Roast) are two absolutely superior pre-roasted coffees for espresso. If I'm really trying to impress someone, I'll spend the afternoon roasting a 1/3 lb of Hawaiian. If I've got any fresh. Which is unlikely. And I also take the chance of screwing up the roast as it's got to be micro-watched/timed. So believe me save yourself the trouble. These two pre-roasted coffees are FULL of flavor, even 2-3 months after purchase. They'll both absolutely knock you off your feet. Rich, non-acitic, no burn taste AT ALL, just a perfected piece of work. I'd even give their Espresso Roast the same kudos. Plz remember: the French Roast is a MUCH bolder roast/bean than the Espresso roast. Yes, you will really taste a marked difference between the two. But they're the only two worth having. And they can't be beat - and believe me I'm sure others have tried in vein for years lol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Starbucks coffee is delicious and never disappoints. I really enjoy this French ground roast and drink it quite regularly. It is a darker roast but smooth. It really gives the pick me up that I need before starting my work day. I know this is not common for coffee products to do, but including a scoop would be great that goes along with the instructions. Just a thought. Otherwise I personally love Starbucks coffee and am never disappointed!

even though it was purchased on starbuckstore.com. it's truly inconvenience to bring the empty bags to the store and ask for the free drink. hopefully starbuck understands this and promptly giving out star code for those who couldn't find it from their purchase.

The last two bags of French Roast (bean form) we purchased here in Oregon are nasty. There's a horrid aftertaste that makes the coffee undrinkable. Sadly, this coffee has probably already flooded the market by now — the only SB coffee I could stand, and now there's nothing :(

Overall this looks like cat food and is incredibly wasteful! Even if the cans are “recycle-able” so much of the recycled goods in the US are actually thrown away. It’s much better to be forward thinking and create products that worth with us and the environment vs against us. Very disappointed in Starbucks for this product.
