We had no problems with packaging or broken panels. Once we figured out that the finished bottom panel went on the inside of the unit, it snapped together. (Just like the picture) The box is huge and holds a lot of cushions. The test was the heavy rains we had last night. Everything stayed dry. We have to remember to wipe the back of the box before we open it because the water drips in when the top is lifted. For the price, we are satisfied with it and it seems very sturdy. Cushions are expensive to replace so it is worth the investment. Time will tell.

A similar (can't be positive it is exact) model of this deck box sells for $50 more at a local big box retailer. Purchased 2 of these deck box kits unassembled as that way when picked up at the local club the shipping boxes would easily fit into our older Outback station wagon (make sure to check interior dimensions of your vehicle before making a trip to the store). Unassembled the deck box kit which should lie flat is 62" x 29.5" x 6.8" and each weighs 46.3# so it is manageable for two senior citizens at home. (For those with trucks, etc., the local club was also selling pre-assembled boxes for $10 more). We had previously decided on a Member's Mark "Elijah" patio set (with 3 person sofa & two deep seating chairs with back and seat cushions) that is on order, so in-store made sure the sample patio set cushions would all nicely fit into two of these deck boxes. That was easy to do as the patio set up was right next to where this deck box model was set up assembled. Click 'n pull pre-ordering for the local club worked great and help was available to load the station wagon from the flatbed at the club when requested at the exit door receipt check. For assembly at home, we suggest that one of the two persons uses a rubber mallet to help pieces fit together properly and then also uses a cordless drill to deal with the screws. Instructions are clear and all parts were enclosed in the box. Assembly was completed in less than a half-hour for both (once you have done the first one, a second one takes half the time to put together). We thought having extra impromptu seating on top of the deck boxes would be an added plus (up to 770# each). Just need to come up with cushions for that purpose. We hope the boxes will keep seat cushions dry when not in use, but if not, there are weep holes in the bottom of the box for drainage. Since these aren't too heavy, we can also store them in the basement over Fall-Winter for use next year in Spring-Summer.

Bought this from Sam's about 2 years ago. It get's opened maybe once per month - not much use. After a year, the lid warped such that it has become concave. Thus a puddle forms on top of the box when it rains and freezes to ice in cold temperatures. Just recently one of the lid pistons broke away from the side of the box for no reason. I cannot believe that Sam's club allows this on their shelves.

I ordered this item on line. Manufacturer packaging is light weight. There was no hardware or assembly instructions. When I finally got a "chat" person on-line, I was told there was no paperwork or hardware, it was just a plastic box. Clearly this person had no concept of "assembly required" The only positive result was the full refund. I shop on-line several times a week because I live 75 miles from the nearest big box retailer. Sam's product customer service is difficult to navigate. After negotiating the automated phone system for several minutes with multiple unsuccessful attempts, I resorted to on-line chat which is probably where they prefer to do business anyway, no matter the customer preference. Sam's needs to work on their on-line store delivery and customer service. I like the brick and mortar store but when it comes to on-line it is easier to shop elsewhere.

I purchased two of these deck boxes and did not realize that I would fall in love...great color, great size, it even has a way to lock it. I just have one problem, one of the sides is not closing and rain got into the box. Luckily, it was only the sectional cushions. However, I am going to reach out to Keter customer service and see if they will assist me. I will update.

This was super easy to put together and very sturdy. It's a great size and holds a lot. Very functional-we bought one to hold pool and outdoor chemicals to keep away from the kids (you can lock the box!) and one that we use as a coffee table with our outdoor chairs that we store pool toys, yard tools, etc in. Awesome value/price for this product!

Having only a 2-year warranty should tell you everything you need to know. You'll get two years before the top warps at the corners and won't close properly. Had ours only 3 years. We don't have extreme temps or even sit on the thing, but it won't stay closed. Keter offered to get new parts for us then sent a email saying that they were having problems getting parts from their manufacturer. Apparently a lot of people have been having the same warping problem. If you can afford to buy a new one every couple of years, go for it.

Needed a deck box badly, and saw this in our local Sam's Club. Price was really great compared to other boxes of this size. It took under 30 minutes for my husband and I to put together. Instructions were minimal, but illustrations were clear. Time will tell if it will hold up to southern weather, but if it lasts several years it will be worth the $$.

I used this to store outdoor cushions. Pros: It is nice and roomy and lightweight which makes it easy to move. Cons: It is not at all water tight, so rain easily gets in from the bottom. Within the first six months, the plastic which holds the screws for the lid hardware deteriorated and completely busted because it's all plastic. The lid no longer sits on the base correctly. It didn't hold up well. I would not recommend it.

This product didn't last two years in our Houston area yard. The hinges on both sides are very weak, and held on with plastic brackets (even though the hydraulics are metal), they broke just from what I would consider to be average usage. Wouldn't buy this brand again.
