Using the right absorbency for your flow should provide 4 to 8 hours protection, so this isn't the experience we want for you. We know how frustrating that can be and have some tips we hope will help prevent it from happening again. It’s always important to choose the lowest tampon absorbency necessary for your menstrual flow. With that said, using a lower-absorbency tampon for a heavy flow may fill the tampon up quickly and, if not changed soon enough, may result in leakage. Sometimes too, heavy clotting may coat the tampon and prevent thinner blood from being absorbed. In both cases, using a higher-absorbency tampon is recommended. With your flow varying from day to day, it’s likely you’ll want to use different absorbencies over the course of your period for better protection and comfort.
