Annoying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the 65" OLED C8 TV last week (OLED65C8PUA) and this is the standard remote. This review is for the remote. Very interesting functionality with a "pointer" type of cursor for selecting. However, the key with a TV in my mind is recognizing that it will generally need to be connected to a cable DVR box (sorry, I haven't cut the cord yet). With that in mind I cannot for the life of me determine how to use certain functionality that my old universal remote has and is not replicated with this one. For example: rewind. or fast forward. There are play and pause buttons, but inexplicably there is no way to rewind. Have to grab the cable remote for that. For example: no record button. DVRs, people. For example: page down. When using guide functionality there is no page down button or area to point at to go further thru the program guide. For any sort of control, you have to use the up/down button one channel at a time. I've tried programming my harmony remote so I can stop using the magic wand but some functions simply won't translate...the left and right functions are specific to the tv and not generic to scrolling left and right thru the program guide. Again, very frustrating! By the way, I haven't turned on the voice functionality as I dont want my TV recording my voice when I'm not paying attention. Not something I want so if there are features above that are only available with voice commands, that is simply unacceptable. Bottom line, maybe this is too clever for its own good. Love the TV. Hate the remote.

Consumers Deserve a Better Replacement

We are on our second remote and still having problems. We have to press the buttons two or three times for it to take the command. Additionally the roller ball in the middle is HYPER sensitive and ever time we we try to click it to select an option, the roller ball pushes the cursor out of the way and away from the selection we wanted. VERY POOR design. Very disappointed.

No Magic in Magic Remote

I have had this remote replaced three times due to very poor engineering and manufacturing quality. The remote has a lifetime of about a year and outside that you can expect the following: the scroll wheel breaks, buttons on the remote lose functionality, remote looses connection with TV, the pointer feature malfunctions, and unit fails altogether. I don't know why LG continues to sell this worthless product that barely lasts a year. I will never by LG again.

It's my god stick

Absolutely tremendous remote! Extremely intuitive, zippy, and responsive. It also works via RF and does NOT require line of site (pointing it at the TV for you Luddites). Speaking of Luddites, pay no heed to the mouth-breathers complaining about it not controlling their set-top cable boxes. Really? You have cable or satellite TV in 2019? Do you live in a mud hut?

Enough is enough!

We got a 55 inch LG TV few years back that came with a magic remote. The original remote worked fine for about 3 years until it broke during moving. Since, we had to replace the remote pretty much every other month due to the designed to fail wheel. these remotes are not cheap. It is such a rip off that made us decide that there is no way that we will ever purchase this brand or anything that was made in the country that this brand is from and make sure that every one in our family and friends are made aware of this so they wont be ripped off too like us. Enough is enough!

Poor quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two LG tvs with the magic remote. The newer of the two recently broke when the wheel snapped off. I opened it up and it is the tiniest plastic shaft that spins the wheel. It had snapped off and no way to fix. Not sure about other users but I like to use the wheel for most of the tvs navigation.

Not impressed. 18 months I have had this remote for my first LG TV purchase. It stopped working due to the roller in the middle loosening and unable to slide in order to use the remote. Because everything is controlled here it is now useless and will need to by another. It should last more than 18months.

Remote will not pair Not supported

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the LG 6500UK and this magic remote. The Magic remote keeps giving me an error when I try to pair the remote. This remote is not supported by this tv. I have tried to to unpair and repair. It worked for two days and then the tv had an update and the magic remote wont work for all functions since and keeps saying its not supported. I would not reccommend this remote.

Worst remote control

I bought LG tv with this magic remote control. The wheel slipped inside the remote control after 2 years of very carefully use and it can't be used anymore. I opened the control and I see that the wheel's thin side was broken... So... good-bye wheel. Greater problem is that it can't be bought a new and genuine LG remote, only "compatible" remotes.

Pretty easy to navigate.

I bought this for my husband to go with his new tv. He likes it, although it took him a little practice to get the hang of the roller/wheel.
