Holy smokes, this stuff is spicy! The spices taste good but a little bit goes a long way! I threw a party and we had a crab/shrimp boil, I used an outdoor propane turkey fryer, I put just over a cup of this in the water and let me tell you, the food was spicy! I like spicy but the corn was REALLY hot!

For our crab boil we have always used the Zatarains Crab Boil in the bags. We couldn't find it anywhere so we ordered this from Walmart. We liked the taste of the fish better with this than the spices in the bag. Unfortunately, it comes in such a large container we will never have to buy again. I wish the container was smaller because now I have to store it for years. We don't have a crab boil but once a year and only use about a cup of this. Taste good, but wish came in smaller package or they maybe sold out of smaller size.

Everyone here in Louisiana has their own special way to boil crabs and crawfish, and none are wrong, but for me, Zatarain's is the best combination of seasonings. One 72 oz container of Zatarain's, a little more salt, a little more red pepper, lemons, onions, garlic and potatoes and a sack of crawfish (or crabs) and 'call the neighbors'!!! One 72 oz is perfect for one 35-40 pound sack of crawfish.

I usually buy the smaller packs from my local meat market buy they are getting harder to find and when I seen Wal-Mart sold the 4lb cans for that price I immediately ordered 2. I use this frequently on pretty much everything I make but the new jar seemed alot more salty then the pouches. Not sure if their trying a new recipe or somebody slipped with the salt but it's not the same as my pouches. Going to order the extra spicy and see if that one is less salty. Hopefully I just got a bad batch because this stuff is awesome on pretty much everything I cook.
