Have had it less than a year and it started smoking. It stunk up my house for a couple of hours. Not sure that I trust to use it again. I don’t want to start my home on fire!

I bought this blender last month, and I wish I had made this purchase years ago. I’ve made salsa and creamy smoothies with this blender. It’s simple and easy to use.

We had a vita mix without the variable speed -- just an one-off switch for high or low and talk carafe. The variable speed helps to blend without creating pockets of air. The shorter carafe works for me. Can fit the whole unit under the counter.

This was a gift to someone who was beginning to enjoy smoothies. I already have one, and enjoy because it is so powerful, and easy to clean. It is heavy, so I leave it on my counter.
