Had the 5200 for 15 years. Like the wider, shorter container. Fits under the cabinet and seems to mix better. Controls are different, still getting used to them.

Great product! Never knew how much we needed a good blender until we got this one! Vitamix is the standard, will never mess with cheaper models again. Blenders are definitely a "get what you pay for" appliance.

As much as i loved it im hoping i wont have to change my review on this one. I have used it once today when i received it and love it. It doesnt make much noise as my other blender (oyster brand). I must say i love it! Works as i expected. Please do follow instructions on first try. I recommend it i read and it does say to start off on 1 and 2 then after a certain sec or min you can higher it up on each use. Package did get on time and great conditions.

I love how this works! It is an amazing blender. Although we only had it for one week and it started turning itself off. I have not done anything but smoothies and hot chocolate in it. We are currently working with the company to fix the problem. I am hopeful that it is something simple and they have been good to work with. Just disappointed that we got one with a problem. Hopefully after we get it fixed/replaced we will only think it is amazing and not have any other problems.

I was concerned about the negative reviews and almost didn't buy this blender. I'm glad I didn't listen. I see multiple reviews that it doesn't blend smoothly. I'm not sure what these people are doing wrong, but I would guess that it's one of a couple of things. First of all, you need to make sure you're putting enough water in. Second, it says in the instructions to let it run on setting 1 for a little bit to "catch" whatever is in it and then you can crank it up. Third, crank it all the way up to 10 and smoothies come out completely smooth. I had a Ninja before this and it wouldn't blend dates I added and little pieces were left in the bottom of the cup. This tore right through the dates, even though they were old and rock hard. I have made smoothies and salsa so far, and I love this thing. The only issue I had was with Sam's listing, not the product. It makes you choose red or black, and when I purchased the only available option was red. I choose that, picked it up at the store, and got a black one. I then noticed that the title reads "assorted colors". Both the black and the red are under the same SKU in the store, so you really probably need to go in to purchase if you want a specific color. The red in the picture also looks a little brighter than the red in person.

This blender is amazing! I've made soup in it and it comes out hot, steam and all. It also blends things like whole charrots, potatoes and oranger extremely well. Yes its pretty expensive, but its well worth it for all the things you make and blend in it.

We purchased our Vitamix bc I had used one as a private in home chef at a clients home. It is amazing! I have taken time to LEARN more about how to properly use my own VItamix and I am even happier! This truly is an amazing product that adds to our culinary lives. The investment is worth it if you really take the time to learn about the engineering and proper use. I love the juices bc the Vitamix allows me to use whole foods rather than simply removing the pulp to make juices. Using the lower speeds for chopping is wonderful too! I just can't say enough about this product. I will continue to use it every day and am also very interested in the smaller add on pieces to make things like nut butters. Cheers!
