This is my 3rd Vitamix, over a life time and I'm a senior now. I've loved everyone. This one is wonderful in that it has a shorter design, and I love the way it switches on, using a blue indicator light as not to forget to turn it off. I love the pulse option, which can allow you to use the blender as a food processor for some items, in some situations. It's perfect, powerful and yet not too loud, and I'm very happy with it!

My parents had a vitamix blender before I moved out and I absolutely loved it. I figured it was about time I invest in my own. I use this blender all the time and I am still learning how to use it proficiently with different foods. It is a bit loud though, but I don't mind.

I had the 5200 for over 10 years before the motor finally burned out. I use it almost every day, sometimes twice a day. When looking to order a new one, the 5300 seemed to have more capabilities. I used it over 2 weeks, and found it to be louder and did not think it was as powerful. Also, i worried about having an electric click switch for off/on vs the manual switch on the 5200 - seems like something that could need repair with as much use as I get from the vitamix. I opted to return it and order a new 5200.

I like the low profile container. I find it superior to my old Vitamix tall container. I like that I can put the container on top and the motor unit and they neatly fit under the top kitchen cabinets. Plus in use it blends frozen items much better than the older tall container requiring much less tamping if any at all. It's also easier to clean than the tall one. The last unit lasted 8 years of near daily use. In addition the new base is red giving a nice pop of color to the kitchen. Mixed feelings on the power switch. It prevents parasitic power draw with is good however after throwing the switch it takes a few seconds before you can use the blender. Nowhere near a deal breaker, I don't think it even amounts to an annoyance, just different.

Love it. Have only had it a few months but we use it nearly everyday and it is a solid work horse. We make smoothies daily and A number of different soups. Looking forward to experimenting with hummus and nut butters next. Easy to use, easy to clean.

It's not as loud as my previous Vitamix. I like the low profile for storage but I like the performance of the less wide base in my previous Vitamix better. I have to start and stop more and push the ingredients around more with the low profile wide base.

Same great performance as always! Our prior Vitamix lasted almost 10 years; in the long run saving us money not having to replace a broken blender within a year. Hoping this one will last just as well but so far, so good - it kicks butt like they always do! (lol)

We picked up a Vitamix 5300 after a Ninja blender began to show its age. After all the impressive reviews, we were disappointed to learn it was all power and no refinement, not to mention being noisier than most shop tools! Plus, you can't pour the blended product without removing the top (unlike my old Ninja). And cleaning was not fun due to the integrated blade. Finally, the 5300 went back, and I picked up a new Ninja to replace it.

Best blender on the market, pulverizes even strawberry seeds! This one was purchased to keep me going if the 7 year old 5300 ever gives up the ghost. I couldn't pass it up at the wonderful sale price! Mine gets a real workout as I also blend up kitchen scraps from produce for my compost pile using an older vessel I saved when I bought a new one a few years ago.

I love the quietness of this machine. I do a fair amount of blending at high speeds with ingredients that make a thick consistency. The first time a used it my husband couldn't believe a blender could run so quietly. The ease of cleaning is amazing! I previously owed a different brand that didn't clean very well when blending soap and hot water. This unit usually comes clean with this method. If I do need to clean by hand the broader canister makes it is easy to clean around the blades.
