I recently tried Ensure Enlive Milk Chocolate. I was okay with the taste, which was less chalky or metallic tasting than expected. However, I am concerned about the usage of corn syrup, carrageenan, phosphates, and other additives I can't pronounce. But overall, Enlive is a decent convenience item.

You might be reading this wishing you had my problem, but I'm a single mom and was finding it very difficult to heal my own body while caring for a growing, nursing infant 24/7. I needed to return to work, but even after a few months off, I had nothing in my reserve tanks when the time came to add a full time job back into the mix. I was really struggling to keep me going. A friend recommended Ensure, and I'm really glad I took her advice. It saved my bacon, figuratively speaking! I started regaining energy almost immediately, the weigh loss issue reversed and eventually abated, and I slowly but surely started to get my strength back. It took a while. I passed through several precious (baby) milestones on my path to physical recovery, but I feel like I'm back now and grateful. I'd definitely recommend the Ensure Enlive as a good idea for anyone going through a physically demanding recovery period.

Tastes good, easy on stomach and taste buds are satisfied it doesn't make me crave for something sweet. Belly keeps fuller for long time no snacks needed to hold in between meals. This might be just the thing I've been looking for.

I had been drinking Ensure for a year now and just wasn't putting the weight on like I wanted. So I decided to try Enlive even though the reviews had some negative responses. The first bottle didn't taste that great but after the third bottle I was use to the flavor and I really enjoy it. I bought it for the sole purpose of the 20 grams of protein plus the heart and bone health. Great product it's expensive but worth it! Thanks Wal-Mart for carrying it!

The product says it is highly nutritious but I like you to reduce the Sugar content, it is unnecessarily adding calories and no benefits. I just recently started taking it as meal replacement hoping to reduce calorie intake, I do not know whether I will be successful.

I really miss the vanilla Ensure High Protein shake because it had MORE protein (24 gms), less calories (240) and less sugar. I'm drinking the strawberry Enlive (that's the only flavor I could find) because it has more protein (20 gm) than the other products, but honestly, why soooo much sugar (20 gms), especially since nutritional guidelines suggest we intake no more than 50 gms of added sugar daily. With corn syrup and glucose as the first few ingredients, I'm assuming all the sugar falls into the "added sugar" category. And at 350 calories, this is no longer a supplement, but an actual meal replacement. Does HMB taste so awful that you need the extra sugar? And how much HMB is in each serving? (Minute amounts as they occur naturally?) Honestly, I wish you would bring back the old Ensure Hi-Protein, especially the Vanilla!

I had cancer 6 years ago. Have used Ensure very much and I like it!! I regret trying Enlive .. just not as good as Ensure!! I use Ensure(350 cal) a great deal. Enlive(350 cal) taste lousy .. compared to regular Ensure(350 cal). And it IS NOT easy to open!! I may use BOOST more often .. if the Ensure marketers keep insisting Enlive is easy to open. Especially if Ensure starts using the ENLIVE NOT EASY TO OPEN .. wrap on ALL ENSURE BOTTLES!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a dietitian at a cancer center and had a taste test with this product via our Abbott rep along with one of our physician practices. All of us were impressed with taste of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. Actually felt the viscous texture was favorable. I am surprised to see the negative comments on taste as I think it tastes better than the Ensure Complete. Also love the 20 grams protein and HMB and feel it will be helpful to my patients.

I have been drinking regular Ensure for several years. I thought I might try this because of the protein. I can't believe I did not read the label and see the amount of sugar. I thought 15 grams was too much, but 22 is terribly unhealthy and so so sweet. Not only that it is thick, chalky and the taste is enough to may me throw up. I feel rotten the rest of the day. I will go back to my regular dark chocolate Ensure and hope never to see this near me again.
