Just as expected

Just bought the system and finished the setup. Having to work out plugging them in but I got 1 camera setup for now. If that one is as good as I should expect when all 4 are hooked up its not bad. It's definitely not the best but it's as good as I expected from a wireless 720p camera system. Picture quality is decent, video is not that smooth but doable (typical convenient store quality), setup overall was simple. Its nice thay you can setup up to 6 additional users ideal for remote viewing on your pc or mobile devices. I dont like that the password HAS to be exactly 6 characters, potientally a little easy to guess.

Good for the price I paid.

Full disclosure, I work in a highly technical field and am used to making things work that others may struggle with. That said, I am not trying to insult anyone rather give an accurate review of the product. I purchased the Lorex 4 wireless camera security system on December 5, 2016. I took 3 days to install it and tweak it. For the price I paid, I am pleased with they system. Please note the cameras are wireless and do not need to be wired back to the DVR BUT they do require power to plug the wall wart(s) into. You will need to have power in your attic to plug them into. All that said – here is my advice on the set-up. Above all don't rush, your safety and security are important. Number 1, plug all of the cameras in inside then turn the DVR on once you have it set-up. Pair all of the cameras inside before taking them to the desired install location. Download and install the Flir Secure app on your cellphone or tablet, this will help you when you are positioning the camera(s). Secondly, scope out your locations, make sure you can get into the attic to pull the power wire for each camera through the wall/ceiling. Equally important, get a long extension cord and hook up the camera in the general location, hold it up or set it near where you think you would like to install it to see if that works for you. Lastly, if you don't feel comfortable with getting into your attic, running power and drilling holes, hire someone to do it for you. As far as the DVR user interface, it is unique to itself, you will have to get familiar with it. It is not hard but you will have to learn how to use it. The apps are them same way, you will need to familiarize yourself with the cellphone app and the computer software that is available. I hope this helps you in your decision.

JUNK!!!

I bought this 10/03/2016. Easy to install--Daytime pictures good--Nighttime not the best--No pictures on monitor, but I have them on my phone. Mouse is not working, remote never has worked. Called tech for help--been on hold now for 1hr, 48 min. I am taking the unit back to Sam's tomorrow for a complete refund. Left a call-back number 3hrs ago.

Not very good

The hardware with this sytem seems decent but the software and support is terrible. The instructions that were included are incapable of guiding an average person to set the system up correctly. I'm a tech person so I can usually figure things out on my own. Took me 2 hours to find software on the Lorex website that would work. The instructions tell you to go to lorextechnology.com to download the software. I searched for the model number and it couldn't be found. Couldn't even find this system sold by Sam's. I've run across this before and I think Sam's Club products may be packaged for them exclusively and the model does not show up on the manufacturer's web site. I couldn't even find a corresponding model. Loaded the software and could not find anywhere to control the motion detection feature. The 720p resolution certainly does not look like any 720p I've ever seen.I stood in front of the camera and my skin looked like a water color painting. I put a camera outside on a cloudy but bright day. The image on my TV using HDMI was VERY dim. Very disappointed for 400 dollars. The hardware seemed decent but the software and support that was not available was terrible. Taking it back tomorrow.

Not very good

I bought one and took it home 40 mile round trip. Discovered it was a store return. Took it back and swapped it for an unused one. Another 40 mile round trip. It was easy to set up and hook up to my TV and install software on my PC. The pictures were clear in daylight but any movement was very jittery. Like maybe not enough frames per second to make movement look smooth. When the sun went down, the cameras became useless. Very poor night vision. This setup might work ok in a store, but it doesn't cut it trying to use in near darkness. I ended up taking it all back down and returning to the store. Another 40 mile round trip. I would have thought it would have been a lot better for $400.

Very poor software and 1 camera drops connection

I got this in the returns section for$200 and it is still a bad deal. Software forced a password update after I had it about 2 months and support has still not responded to my ticket. Unless they help me reset the admin password it is basically a brick now. The new password required mor than 6 chars but the dvr seem to stop at 6 chars so it has me locked out with no way to playback or configure. The quality of the software would have gotten a 1 at best before, but with this update it made it a zero if I could give that.

Our apologies for any confusion. Yes the cameras need to be connected to a reliable power source but they are wireless in that they do not have to be hard wired back to the DVR.
