I was very hesitant to try it since I had read reviews that it does not work on South Asians. We do have thick hair and lots of it but so far I am noticing a change and from the way it's going, I'm excited to see the final result in 12 weeks. I would of never invested in it just from the reviews but thank you Bzzagent for giving me the opportunity to overcome misconceptions. So easy to use as well. It was so quick and I was done using it on my entire body in 12 min.

I started out using the device on one leg so that I could compare it with the other leg for a fair comparison. When I initially started using the device my legs stayed red for several hours, mostly due to my sensitive skin. But now I no longer react. My hair on my leg has drastically changed. Going from corse and thick to barely noticeable. My 5 o'clock leg shadow is no longer and issue. Very thankful to have tried this new product. Thank you braun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to be selected to receive a Gillette Venus Silk Expert from Braun in exchange for providing honest feedback. My husband and I are both trying it out and here are our initial thoughts after using it once: 1) You should know before buying that it is not for use on the face 2) I find it a bit hard to know where I've already used so suspect that I've either repeated treatment on area's or missed huge area's. 3) While it doesn't require sunglasses, it is super bright so I'm wearing sunglasses. AND, we learned right away to NOT use it in a small area like the bathroom and definitely not in front of a mirror! A larger space not directly in front of a mirror is much more ideal. We've only used it once so not sure about results yet but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it works. My face is much more of a problem area for me so I will definitely be purchasing the face approved device if we find this works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine is compact, lightweight, and sleek. I wish it came with a storage bag though to wrangle the cord during storage. I started with the patch test. I'm usually the kind of person who skips the patch test (shame!), but this seems like the thing you definitely want to test on your skin before using. I waited 48 hours – just in case – and was in the clear to give the full treatment a try. Overall, the Venus Silk-expert is easy to use. The directions are simple, so I wasn't left questioning whether I was using it wrong and possibly damaging my skin. It felt warm, but not uncomfortable. My underarms were slightly itchy after use, but only for about half an hour. My only complaint is that I found it a bit hard to get the hang of having both sensors making contact with my skin (it won't treat until both are touching). Maybe I was holding my arm up in an odd position. Maybe it is because I'm plus-sized. Or maybe I just needed a little practice – by my third treatment I didn't seem to struggle with it anymore. Looking forward to the end results!

The Gillette Venus Silk expert is a new and innovative IPL hair removal system. The device itself is small and compact but very well made. The kit comes with a hair removal guide, gillette venus razor, power supply and gillette venus cartridge. It's very easy to use. First, you prep the area to be treated by removing all visible hair and also make sure that you have no lotions or creams on the skin. A patch test is recommended, treat a small area and wait 24 hours to ensure there are no adverse reactions. Then you are good to go. Just plug the device in and 3 power bars will light up and you'll hear a fan start to run. Press the treatment window firmly against the skin, press the treatment button and you will see a flash and feel a warm sensation. Then simply move the device to the next area to be treated and repeat the steps. I do love that the device has 3 settings to chose from including normal, gentle and extra gentle which are great for sensitive areas or first time users. The device also has 2 treatments modes Gliding that allows you to quickly treat larger areas like legs, arms and back and Precision mode which is better for small areas such as bikini or underarms. I have found the device very easy to use, it does not take very long to treat areas. The small treatment window allows you to easily reach behind knees and bikini area. I did not feel any pain with the device at all. Such an easy way to deal with stubborn and unwanted hair. I'm really excited to see the full results in the following weeks!

So far I received the Gillette Venus Silk Expert powered by Braun and in general liked the feel and hold of the device. I have used Venus Razors in the past and was more pleased with the one I received in this package bc it seemed to work "better" then others. I tried to follow the package instructions. As a researcher, I liked that there was an RCT on the device - my plan is to give my honest opinion in 3 parts. Part 1 is my initial opening and ease of use. So far it is extremely easy to use and not uncomfortable at all. I am from the Epilady generation so I was worried it would be uncomfortable like that and it wasn't at all. My concern is with the written directions, bc I don't know if I am doing it "correctly". The accompanying video is super helpful bc the written instructions were not enough. My plan is to only do on 1 leg and check back in 6 weeks but so far- Thumbs up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), powered by Braun, once a week for 8 weeks now and am very happy with the results. My target area for hair removal is my underarms, which appears to have minimal visible hairs after this 8 week period. When I first received the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL, I was concerned about how my skin would react to the treatment, as I am very sensitive to pain. I was delighted that when used as directed, the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL feels like a rubber-band snapping against my skin. It also feels a bit warm as the light pulses. The Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL is very easy to use. After plugging into the outlet, the unit is powered on and ready to be used. My skin tone is read automatically with its unique SensoAdapt skin tone sensor, which adjusts the intensity of the IPL for safety and efficiency. There is a small button to select one of 3 modes, including an "extra-gentle mode" for sensitive skin like mine. The other button (a much bigger one) is pressed for the pulsed light, and it can be held down for working on larger areas, known as "gliding mode." The gliding mode automatically pulses about once every 2 seconds. Just remember to close your eyes when the light is pulsing. I am very happy with the results as seen in my photo. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. I have had no issues or adverse effects with using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL.

I think I made a bigger production of using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert than was necessary. I didnt shave for an entire week and announced to my husband that I was not to be disturbed while using for the first time. I showered shaved and then broke out the Gillette Venus silk-expert. It's actually very easy to use and extremely intuitive. I really like how the lights on the side light up blue or red while using to guide you and let you know if you are getting the right amount of contact. The gliding method over the larger, smoother areas worked well. The direct contact on singular areas was easy as well although there is a bit of a snap to it, I like the glide method better but I appreciate being able to cover a lot of different areas. The idea of not having to shave is extremely appealing and I'm looking forward to using this again.

It was very easy to use and lightweight which is a good thing for me since I have carpal tunnel, so it's hard to hold heavy things for a long time. It was very simple to set up and understand directions. I would recommend this product to anyone. I can't wait to see the final results

I have tried several hair removal products in the past and none compare to these results. After 5 weeks of treatment I have seen remarkable results. The area I decided to treat was my underarms. Before using this product I could easily shave my underarms daily, especially in the summer. After using this product I have been able to decrease shaving to twice a week and continue to see less hair after each treatment. I highly recommend this product as a hair removal system. Great job Gillette!
