[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Braun sent me the Gillette Venus Silk-expert hair removal device, and I was skeptical at first. I've tried professional laser treatments as well as many at home hair removal treatments, and all of them are either painful, impossible to actually do, or they don't work. I watched a short video on how to use the Gillette Venus Silk-expert device and read the instructions. Seemed easy enough so I gave it a whirl! I was really pleased, as it did not hurt one bit and was a breeze to use! The machine fits nicely into my hand and is foolproof, as it reads your skin tone and adjusts to match. It then emits the hair-removing laser, which feels like a tiny snap but nothing painful. I am in the early stages of trying this out, as you need to use it once per week for 12 weeks to see results, but my first response is two thumbs up based on the ease of use!

My favorite part is that the hair falls out no matter the length! The directions say to be hairless when you start. But I was lazy. I love showing my friends how easy and painless the entire process is. And now how you don't really need to be hairless though it may be better if you are!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really happy to have the opportunity to try this product for free in exchange for my honest review from Braun®! I normally shave my legs, underarms, and bikini area but I have also tried waxing and epilating. The Silk Expert was very easy to use. After shaving, I just plugged it in and started using it. There is a gentle mode that can be used when you first start using it, however I just used the normal mode right away. Once the unit is lined up on my skin it would just flash and then I'd slide it up to the next area and it would flash again. When the light flashes, it feels hot for a fraction of a second. It can be a little tricky to line it up on hard-to-reach areas, especially around the ankles and the knees, but there are lights that show if the sensors are lined up correctly and they act as a great guide. When I first tried it, I did one flash on my leg as a test area and then the next day I did my whole lower legs. After the treatment, my skin didn't feel any different than usual. A week later, I did my lower legs again, my armpits, and my bikini area. I'm not sure if it's because I did my armpits and bikini area after my legs and the unit was already feeling hot, but it felt a little more intense than it did on my lower legs. Even so, it was just a little heat and then it was gone - much much less painful than waxing and epilating. My lower legs took about 10 minutes to do, and my armpits and bikini area took less than 5 minutes for both areas total. Weekly treatments may seem like a big commitment, but for 15 minutes to treat everything is definitely something I can swing. Overall, I'm super happy with this product and can't wait to see the results that come over time!

I can definitely see where the patch I was testing had less hair growth then the rest of my leg. I have noticibly less hair and the stubble is not as course as it usually is. The Venus Silk-expert is super easy to use, I can barely feel it, and it actually works! The only thing that is a concern to me is the bright, red flash, but I just try to look away as I'm gliding it over my leg. It is a little bulky, but it's not hard to hold on to, and I really have to concentrate on the areas I have already gone over as to not repeat the same stroke. I am convinced and I'm going to start using it on both legs.

While I still see hair growth, I have seen some improvements in how fast the hair grows. I've recommended it to my sister and mother as they both would like wax/shave less often. I plan on continuing to use the machine to see if hair growth will stop or be very minimal at he least.

But, I still have to shave during the week. Also, I still find it a bit hard to use. I really wish it had more than I setting, as I never know if I'm getting the right "light" treatment when I use it in a large area and in a precise location.

You really have to commit to using this as per the directions but if you do results will be visible. In the beginning I thought I would never see a change but after using this for several weeks and having it become part of my grooming routine, I can actually say that I have seen less hair growth. I know understand that all hairs grow back at different speeds and rates and this is why you need to be really disciplined in using it but I have to say the results speak for itself. Once you start seeing results you become more motivated to use it to continue to see the results you want. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The device was easy to put together and use and I found it glides easily over all areas it's designed for.

It reaches behind my legs with ease. It is not heavy to hold and I am blown away by the results. Even my friends have noticed how smooth my legs look. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was over the moon to try the Venus Silk-expert and I've been diligent about using it. Once a week and only under my left arm so that I could compare it to my shaved right underarm. Early results were promising...my husband said he thought it looked like I had less hair on the treated side. That said, I can't really tell if it's working. I still see about the same amount of hair. I like how quick and easy it is to use the device. Literally 1 minute to plug in and stroke under my arm with the pulsed light. I feel a very subtle burning sensation, but nothing unbearable and I'm fine putting deodorant on immediately afterward. I haven't experienced any side effects. I will continue my experiment for at least another month and may try my legs too. I REALLY, REALLY hope to see the benefits. I would love to stop spending time and money on shaving. I would love not to worry that the nail tech is judging me next time I forget to shave before getting a pedicure!

So far, so good on the intense pulse light. I thought that the install was easy and the directions were complete and easy to read and understand. I do wish that it gave an exact usage time. The directions say weekly. I wish I knew that for it to really work you need to use it 1x or 2x, etc a week. The first time I used it I realized that your skin needs to be COMPLETLY dry, mine wasn't and I got a little zap. The user also needs to make sure the area of free of hair. The glide motion for your legs is great. The life span to see if it works is 3 months, which is a little long but I am excited to see if it works. The act of doing the pulsing to prevent hair regrowth is about the same time as shaving.
