I have had a constipation problem my entire life. I use a Senocot vegetable laxative daily at bedtime. My primary doctor said that is safe to use on a daily basis since it is all natural. However, if I eat carbs like bread or pasta, I still get bound up. If I don't have a bowel movement for 2 days, I take Dulcolax at bedtime on the 2nd night and it works overnight with no intestinal pain and no diarrhea. It's not something you should take daily but, when necessary, it does the job.

I have a very quest stomach and most laxatives tear me up. I tried children's Castoria, that gave me severe cramps. Dulcolax is very gentle on your stomach, works overnight and gives you the gentle relief you want without pain and pressure.

works Ok, it takes a while, 3-4 hours to take effect noticeably. Would like a little less time for taking effect, but that may just be me.

I use Dulcolax occasionally when I really need help, and I’ve noticed over the last couple of months that the pills look different. The ingredients are the same, but the coating has definitely changed. When the coating is different, it dissolves at a different speed, which means the timing and effectiveness can change too. For example, before I could count on it working overnight without fail, but now it seems slower and not as strong as the original version my body was used to. I even checked other stores thinking maybe I just got an odd batch. CVS didn’t have any on the shelf at all, and the ones at Albertsons had the same new look. There was no mention of this change on the Dulcolax website, so I reached out to the company, and they confirmed that some warehouses make the updated version while others still make the original. It’s unfortunate that Dulcolax didn’t advertise this change, . . one of those “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it” situations. At this point, I’m realizing it might be time to start looking for a replacement. I just want other people to know in case they’ve been wondering why the timing or results feel a little different too.

I mean it'll work, but it it'll hurt your insides, causes bad cramping. Just 1 little pill did that.
