In the drink's defense, I think part of this is that I'm accustomed to sugar free energy drinks - the sweetness was off, but that might just be due to being used to artificial sweeteners. I also don't care for the underlying flavor. I did ask someone in my household who drinks Red Bull occasionally if there were any major changes and he couldn't taste anything different, so if there was a formulation change I don't think it's detectable to people who drink it regularly, taste-wise. However this just really isn't for me.
