[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used regular sponges forever, and one day I happened to run out so I had my friend bring over a sponge from her house. She brought a Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge and I couldn't believe the difference! I BARELY had to sit them in hot water, and everything scrubbed right off with such ease. This has made doing dishes SO much easier and less time consuming for me! This product alone has turned me into a VERY loyal Scotch Brite customer!!!

I bought 6 pack of these with 3 scour pads this winter. I have used these also in the past but do not remember the horrible chemical smell that these new sponges have. I loaded it up with dish detergent and it still smells something like bleach or disinfectant.In fact it is so strong that that chemical smell gets into the skin on my hands and I can smell it for a long time afterward. I don't know if these were over treated at the factory or if this is just the way they are made now but it is nasty and takes quite awhile to get rid of that odor. After being a fan of the quality of 3M products in the past I will move on to something else. Our grocery store offers some other brands that I have used in the past and they don't have these chemicals in them. It is too bad because otherwise I like the quality but not if it is the expense of exposing myself to such a bad chemical - makes me sneeze too.

I used it to remove baked on grease from the outside of a couple of my frying pans. Worked quite well. Then I used to sponge side to remove the soap and grease residue. Good dual purpose product.

I switched from using dishcloths to these scrub sponges years ago and what a difference! My stainless steel pots and pans still look new thanks to Scotch-Brite. I have wasted money trying other brands of green-backed sponges that just don't measure up.

While cleaning a stove that had sat in storage for 2 years the Scotch Brite heavy-duty scrub sponge was invaluable for cleaning up this dirty mess without messing up the stove's finish. This stove was donated to a charity auction and brought the highest price of the evening, no doubt due to it's spotless and like new appearance, made possible by Scotch Brite!

Scotch Brite has changed something and don’t know why we’ve not commented before. We thought it was a bad batch but they sponges have been consistently just bad. They have lost not only the odor reduction that was in the originals, but the sponge section does not hold up as well at all. We’ve purchased the same rectangular pack for decades and am totally disappointed with the thinner sponge and poor quality. They are not holding up at all. Are you planning on going back to your original design soon? I’m the meantime we are out looking for other brands to try. Sorry… but we need a good working sponge in the kitchen, bathrooms, utility room for our household. Sincerely, longtime consumer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Scotch Heavy Duty sponges daily for doing the dishes. Nothing comes close to these when it comes to removing tough baked/cooked on food and stubborn other stains. I've tried the knock-off brands and they don't work very well at all. The sure look like they would work but that's about as far as they get. I love this product and thank you for making it. It makes my life easier.

Cooking daily on pans that do not have a non stick surface,the pans do get their daily build up of burn stains,( butter, oil, liquor). The Scotch Brite heavy duty scrub sponge seems to remove those stubborn stains with very little scrubbing force.They also clean up stove tops that have pan spill overs very easily.Scotch brite is our kitchen hero.

I use scotch-brite heavy duty sponges in the kitchen. I have tried off brand imitators and where as they may cost less they do not last as long (shedding green flakes and fibers) and do not do as good of a job making me work harder! When I use 3M scrubbies they do a fabulous job and last and last. After they are retired from the kitchen they normally go to other uses thru out the house because they are too good to throw out but not good enough for the kitchen. I also use scrubies as filters for my potted plants so the dirt does not wash out of the bottom of the plant when watering.

I always have as Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge on my sink. I use it for washing dishes and especially for tough dried-on or burned-on residue on pots and pans. The "regular" sponge on the flip side of the scrubber makes it a great "two for one" sponge.
