Hitachi does it again!

I had 2 of the rear projection TV years ago and they are still going strong! I wanted to upgrade so I spotted this model and looked at the extras and bought it!! Love it! Deepest color and picture and simple to use...

GREATEST TV EVER

I bought this Roku TV last year around Christmas, It has excellent picture and sound quality in comparision to the theatre I love the Roku features that comes with it. This would definitely BE compared to a $3,000 television, I highly recommend it. Almost a year later and it plays just the same as day one.

Horrible Purchase!

Haven't even had this television for two years yet and the screen went totally black. Called Hitachi customer service, they are garbage and it was like pulling teeth to speak to a live person. Once I finally reached a live person, they couldn't really have cared any less about my issue. Took it to a repair shop and they said the repair would cost more than the television is even worth. They've had lots of issues with the panel going out in these televisions. BUYER BEWARE!!! I will NEVER purchase this brand AGAIN!

BEWARE HORRIBLE SOUND!

I bought 2 of these tv's at 1 time to be hung the next day. I was so excited as the picture and color quality is phenomenal. However, after checking connections and settings, I realized there was no sound at volume 15 on 1 tv, and no sound until volume 25 on the 2nd tv. As you can imagine I was devastated as I had both tv's mounted professionally. Yes I bought the protection plan and yes I can get a sound bar to increase the volume capacity. BUT ON A BRAND NEW TV, WHAT'S THE POINT? I'm just disappointed and feel misrepresented by Sam's and the 2 employee's that sold me malfunctioning tv's. I am no longer excited when I have go in the store to shop and often send my husband.

love it almost

This is the third Hitachi tv I have bought from Sam’s. This is my first smart TV. I love it. The only thing I have found that I don’t like is the fact you can’t add a channel manually. Where I live I have to rotate my antenna and the one station will not pick up when scanning or I only get the one that is missing. But everting else is nice.

Two Out Of Three An't Bad

I bought two of these TV's on line. They were on sale at that time. The first one that we opened and set up had two rows of dead pixels about 3/8 inch wide from top of screen to bottom of screen. The second TV was perfect in every way. We took the defective TV to the local Sam's Club. They replaced the defective 55R80 with a new 55R81. They also honored the sale price which had run out at that time. The replacement TV as been a very good one. Sam's Club has been very nice to work with. I would also recommend this TV to any one. Sharp, good color and OK sound. Roku interface works good. We are enjoying these two TV's very much.

Do not buy this tv

Was excited to set this up based on some feedback I received on it. Setup was quick and easy. After that is where it goes down hill. The picture is horrible! I’ve tried multiple sources and everyone is blurry and not sharp at all. Along with that, all four corners of the screen have white clouding. Skip this one!

TV good

I have purchased with out the ROKU and TV was working until it had a hit from a 2 years old. The extended warranty it does not cover. You are better off if you take that money put it aside add a few extra and you have a NEWER TV. EX. mine it was 500 plus warranty 100 for about 600. This TV costs 400. without the warranty. Save your 100.

Loved it and then...

Great picture, loved the built in Roku stick. Never had problem. Then one day it went dark. It lost the black light. It was about 2 years in just like all the reviews are saying. Evidently this is a $100 fix if you want to do it yourself. Just so bummed that my TV went out I dont know if I want to even try...

Not worth any $$

I purchased this tv and within 3 months it had a green line down the center. Sams replaced it with a new one and now - within another 3 months half of the screen has gone dim and there is a darker line down the other side. The picture and sound were ok when it worked properly but it hasn’t worked 3 consecutive months without some type of problem. It will automatically disconnect itself from the internet. We have tried to troubleshoot with both the internet provider (Comcast) and Hitachi customer service with no real answer or resolution. I do not recommend this tv.
