Previously the only mayonnaise allowed in our house was Hellmann's Mayo but my last two jars have become "thin" even when stored in the refrigerator per their recommendation. It is so thin that I can pour it out of the jar, has the consistency of thin hand cream. Have the recipe been changed? Added more water?

I grew up on "Real" Hellmann's Mayonnaise, as did my entire family including my children and grandchildren. You have changed the recipe and it is not acceptable any more. You have also changed from glass jars to plastic. This is also unacceptable. The "Real Hellmann's" would have gotten 5 stars !! I don't even want to give the current one even one star !!

My mother and grandmother always used Hellmann's Mayonnaise when I was growing up as a kid. I'm an adult myself now, and it's the ONLY brand of mayonnaise that I will use. NOTHING tastes like Hellmann's Mayonnaise, and it makes my dishes taste amazing! It's creamy, smooth, and has just enough flavor to give it a little kick. I cook all of the time for family and friends, so I only want the best ingredients, and Hellmann's Mayonnaise is the best on the market period! I use it in macaroni salad, potato salad, shrimp dip, and spinach artichoke dip just to mention a few. I use it on sandwiches, and I use it in baking recipes as well. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who loves the best mayonnaise on the market!

I’ve been using Hellmans Mayonnaise for years and years. It’s the only mayonnaise I will buy. The last two jars I bought are awful! Very thin, watery and tasteless! You definitely changed the recipe! And please don’t deny it, because we know you are being deceitful…..Why would you change your mayonnaise? It’s always been the best mayonnaise out there. Not anymore! So disappointed that your company would stoop this low, and lose all your loyal customers! Shame on you, Hellmans! Please bring back your original recipe. Until then I will not buy your Mayonnaise anymore…..and I’m sure all your other loyal customers will not be buying it either! You’ve just been added to the consumer’s products HALL OF SHAME! I wish I could give no stars……

I grew up on Hellman’s, raised my kids, and grandkids on it. My Dad made Hellman’s and Skippy Peanut Butter. We can’t eat anything else. Believe me, I challenge you to do the blindfold comparison. You may not know it’s Hellman’s but you will know it’s the best! When eating out, I love tuna, chicken or shrimp salad sandwiches but have to ask what mayonnaise they use first. If not Hellmann’s than I don’t order them.

I grew up only a few blocks from Mr. & Mrs. Richard Hellmann, and he used to tell us about his mother making the mayonnaise and he selling it on the street corner. Have always used it, and had to send it to my sister out west, until we realized that it was "Best" west of the Rockies. There's nothing with which to compare, as I've tried them all, and Hellmann's is the Best. I insisted that my local Deli change or I wouldn't continue patronizing, after tasting their off brand, and they did.

I’ve noticed a change in the way my mayonnaise looks and tastes. It looks and tastes like the cheap stuff my husband buys occasionally. It is now shiny (like there’s oil in it. It always has had a matte look. The taste is different too. Please go back to your old formula. Until then, we won’t be buying it.

I am already a fan of Hellmann's and use their mayo in salads, on sandwiches and a variety of other dishes. I love their new bottle, and the ability to squeeze the product out rather than scooping it out on a container. The clean lock cap keeps the mayo locked and fresh while in the fridge waiting for use in my next creation!

I thought it was me only until I read all of these other remarks, what did you do to the old Real Hellmans Mayonnaise? It is more thin than before and not as rich and tasty like before when you could buy the 32 oz jar, Please go back to the original size and taste.

Products are always reformulated to cut corners and increase profit. Sometime within the past 18 months or so, Hellman's reformulated this old standby. The texture used to be stiffer, almost like stiff egg whites, with a very eggy flavor. The texture is now much more funny and thin, like Miracle Whip. The flavor is more tart than it used to be, no overpowering the egg flavor which is now reduced. They've obviously upped the water content, even though oil is still the lead ingredient. In salads, it starts to get watery after it sits a day, so you'll end up throwing your left over deviled eggs and potato salad away. Obviously a Boardroom decision made by out of touch suits in their corporate bubble, having nothing but contempt for the loyal consumer and ruining a once-good product in favor of the bottom line. Need to find another product, since Hellman's has left deserted me as a once-loyal customer.
